The central German state of Hesse has set itself the goal of sourcing its electricity entirely from renewable sources by 2045. To achieve this ambitious target, an increase in installed capacity by sixfold by 2030 is necessary. Consequently, a continuous and reliable expansion of renewable energy is essential. 🌎💚 Since 2013, the VSB Group has actively contributed to this initiative in Hesse. 🌬☀️ Our Vockenrod wind farm, serenely situated in the Antrifttal in the Vogelsberg area, is now equipped with three modern Nordex N149-5.X wind turbines, which together generate a capacity of 17.1 megawatts. There’s more good news: Following a successful bidding process in February, we have received permission to expand the wind farm. Flex2power, the gamechanger in floating offshore wind presented by Flex2future, Norway. Flex2power – a gamechanger within renewable energy production from a floating installation offshore. Harvesting the power of ocean space energy in modular offshore installations with an LCoE equal to 50USD/MW. The idea in the solution is to create more energy from the same floating installation by adding in a Wave Energy Converter – WEC, in addition to the energy produced by the wind turbine. This is achieved by connecting flexible cubes to a Semisub in the center. The additional energy is caused by forces from wind, waves and current on the foundation and transferred into electricity by a system with a DC generator/motor.
