Congratulations to team #BigCommerce. In my professional opinion BigCommerce is an excellent e-commerce platform and arguably the best option for enterprises and mid-market companies. Just spent couple days in Austin headquarters discussing #BigCommerce product roadmap and GTM strategies. Here are some the reasons why i believe that they will continue to be leaders in this marketplace: -- #BigCommerce supports native MACH architectures however, they make it easier for businesses to transition to it with their hybrid approach. I like to compare it to how Microsoft Azure made it easy for their enterprise clients transition to cloud during the initial days. -- They are listening to the mid-market and small players equally and are not just uni-dimensional in their approach towards enterprises unlike other e-commerce platforms that are unaffordable to many mid-market businesses. This allows them to be nimble and innovative in their approach. Any innovator will tell you that small and mid-market companies give you room to innovate and take risks although they do not have the resources of enterprises. While enterprises test the scalability and maturity of the platform while being risk averse. The balance is extremely important. -- They are extremely receptive and proactive at developing a partnership eco-system and promoting opensource community. That means they are promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. #BigCommerce and Brent Bellm have created a great culture. Finally thank you to the amazing team of #BigCommerce for hosting us at the head office and the wonderful dinner in #Austin. Brendan Abernethy your professionalism and attention to detail is amazing. I have a few more insights regarding IDC report about best ecommerce platforms for B2C midmarket. Just a recap, IDC named VTEX, Shopify and Intershop Communications as leaders in the B2C Midmarket segment by IDC. All of them are core ecommerce companies. Two of them are founder-led. Intershop is today a plublic company. The original founder left many years ago and also founded Demandware, which was later acquired by Salesforce All of them have strong regional basis in a Top 10 ecommerce market. Shopify in Canada, Vtex in Brazil and Intershop in Germany. All of them are publicly traded companies. Although Shopify has 50x bigger market cap than Vtex and even more compared to Intershop, which seems to be a rather small company these days. And here the similarities end. Shopify was born to help SMB sell online and is growing from there. VTEX was always Midmarket/Enterprise Intershop seems more worried about B2B Ecommerce. And that actually puzzles me. How such a small company focused in B2B commerce is positioned as leader in this B2C report? Any guess? #business #ecommerce #technology
