One of our goals since we started was to empower the next generation of creators and this year we've had the incredible pleasure of working with the students from UF Digital Worlds Institute. Twice this year, they've come by Vū Tampa for a full day of learning about all things virtual production. During their trips to Tampa, they documented everything they hoped to learn and their aspirations for their careers in the film industry. We can't wait to see how each of the students will grow in their chosen paths—take a look at their visits to the studio: https://lnkd.in/eD5AmmXS

On October 16th, we participated in a roundtable dedicated to Virtual Production at the new VP Code Lab virtual stage in Tudela. During the session, our experts, Kike Unzu and Sergio Ochoa, shared insights on how this technology is redefining the way audiovisual content is created, opening doors to new artistic possibilities and optimizing both production and post-production workflows. Among other key topics, we discussed: ▶️ What is Virtual Production and what new dynamics does it introduce to the filming process? ▶️ How to maximize resources by optimizing time and merging post-production with pre-production. ▶️ Critical decision-making: when to shoot in Virtual Production and when to opt for more traditional techniques. Additionally, we provided personalized advice to the teams behind the projects "Sobre zarzas y matas" by Mikel Subiza, and "Marta y Sara" by Julio Mazarico, both currently in development at the VP Code Lab incubator. We offered guidance on planning shoots involving VFX and highlighted the key post-production areas that will make a difference in these projects. Virtual Production is not just a trend; it’s the future of the audiovisual industry, and we’re thrilled to be part of its evolution. #AntavianaVFX #VirtualProduction #PostProduction

Doom Torhee Dr. Akanimo Odon Nelly Kacemba ASSIGNMENT THREE 1. If i were to work for a company that aligns with my creative media knowledge and skills, i would work for post-production houses like Light &Magic (ILM), Weta Digital, Framestore. These companies specialize in high-end VFX, compositing and post-production for films and commercials. I would also work for game development studios such as Naughty Dog . They incorporate cinematic storytelling through high-quality animation and post-production within games. 2. If i were to set up a small company in the creative media industry, it would focus on story telling and content creation. My target clients would be startups and small Businesses, Entertainment and Gaming companies etc. 3. If am to study in the creative media spaces the two courses i would study would be Interactive Media and Emerging Technologies.

Excerpt from my introduction to the paper "Infinite Worlds: How Decentralized Cinematic Universes are Shaping the Future of Entertainment"—a thought-provoking paper by Valentina Martelli, Luigi F., and Giovanni A. Pedde. When I founded Insurgence, my mission was clear: to build a platform where filmmakers overlooked by traditional distributors could thrive. With my data analytics background, I saw online video platforms, especially YouTube, as a way to democratize cinema access for audiences previously excluded by economic or geographic barriers. It started with a question: What if we could use data to give people exactly what they wanted? Today, the questions we face are more complex: With films becoming commodities and per-film revenues at historic lows, what does the future hold for emerging filmmakers? The entertainment landscape has shifted. Theatrical models are barely surviving, attention spans are shrinking, and AVOD (Advertising Video on Demand) has become the primary revenue stream for independent films, bringing its own challenges: lower revenue per view, fierce competition, and limited visibility. This poses a crucial dilemma. How can new filmmakers survive, let alone thrive, in an oversaturated market? How can they stand out when films are consumed quickly and monetized by brief engagement? What new model can support the discovery of new talent? At Insurgence, we've embraced AVOD for its democratizing potential, reaching massive audiences but forcing us to rethink filmmaking economics. Success is now about capturing attention. Filmmakers must be both creative artists and strategic marketers. Emerging filmmakers need actionable data—real insights into what audiences are watching and engaging with. The old model of hoping a film finds its audience no longer works. Success today means understanding audience behavior at a granular level. At Insurgence, data is our compass. We help filmmakers position their work, identify resonant themes, and maximize success. But with films commoditized, many still wonder: Can independent cinema be a viable career? Our next challenge is building a sustainable model that provides filmmakers with the tools they need while reimagining revenue, visibility, and longevity in film. We’re experimenting with digital windows, exclusive launches, and international dubbing to extend a film’s reach. We’re committed to finding solutions because the future of independent cinema depends on it. At Insurgence, we’re not just building a company; we’re creating a movement to give emerging filmmakers the opportunity to shape the future of cinema in a transformative era.
