In #Cambodia, less than one-third of 3- to 5-year-olds are on track in literacy and numeracy, with girls often facing extra challenges due to stereotypes. Thanks to teachers like Nget Mony Satya and VVOB’s SMILE project in partnership with The Ministry of Education Youth and Sports, inclusive, play-based teaching methods are making maths accessible and engaging for all learners. Teachers like Satya are role models, inspiring girls to excel in math—a skill that builds financial literacy, empowers independence, and can help to break cycles of inequality. For almost 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of being a captioner for middle school, high school, and higher education classes. One thing that stands out to me time and time again is how students excel when they’re given the same level of access as their peers. There’s nothing quite like seeing a student actively engaging in the classroom—accessing captions, joining the conversation, and truly thriving in their learning environment. Education is the foundation for opportunity, growth, and connection—and accessibility is what ensures that everyone has a fair chance to succeed, especially people with disabilities. Accessible education isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s a must. When we break down barriers, we empower students to reach their full potential—and that’s something we should all strive for. Let’s continue to build a future where education works for everyone! #accessibility #education #higherED #deaf #captioning
Today is the International Day of Education—a reminder of the power of learning to transform lives. As we celebrate, let’s remember that access is key for all learners, especially those in the disability community. Inclusive education opens doors to opportunity, equity, and a brighter future for everyone. Let’s prioritize accessibility at every level. #education #EducationAccess #Accessibility #inclusion Image description: A blue panel on the left with white text that reads: “Friday, January 24, 2025 International Day of Education In 2022–23, 7.5 million students ages 3–21 (15% of all public school students) received special education services under IDEA. –National Center for Education Statistics.” On the right, there is a blurred background of a classroom, with a stack of books, an apple, an alarm clock, and a colorful container filled with pencils, scissors, and other school supplies in focus.

Rethinking Gifted Education: Beyond Maximizing Potential Gifted education is often perceived as a means to maximize potential. However, it is crucial to recognize that it should also address the special needs of twice and thrice exceptional populations, as well as gifted children from disadvantaged backgrounds. I want to emphasize that gifted education can sometimes become a pathway to elitism, or a project driven by the aspirations of narcissistic and vainglorious parents. This "kiasu" mentality, prevalent in some cultures, can create undue pressure on children and reinforce social inequalities. Instead of focusing solely on maximizing individual achievement, we should prioritize inclusive practices that support all gifted learners, particularly those who face additional challenges. Gifted education should be about nurturing diverse talents and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background. Let’s work together to create an equitable education system that truly serves the needs of all students. #GiftedEducation #EquityInEducation #InclusiveLearning Kelvin-ChatGPT co-production

If we want to make strides in 2025 to get #MediaLiteracy education into more schools around the country, we need to: ⚖️ Put pressure on our policymakers to pass legislation that prioritizes media literacy education in K-12 schools and provides funding to support teacher training, curriculum development, and implementation; and 🗣️ Mobilize grassroots advocates — parents, teachers, and other individuals — to start conversations in their local schools and communities and find ways to incorporate media literacy skills practice into the current curriculum. This is our focus for 2025 — but we can’t do this work without you. As we continue to advocate to get media literacy education into more schools and classrooms, can we count on your support? https://lnkd.in/ePSMVSZT

Education is a path out of poverty. Holistic support in education is a path out of poverty that supports the growth of the whole child.
Every step towards school is a step towards a brighter future. We've brought education closer to home with our 6 schools serving preschool through 8th grade students. Now, little feet don't have to travel so far, and young minds can start their learning journey earlier. It's amazing how a shorter distance can lead to longer-lasting education. #thekilgorisproject

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗞𝗖𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 💙 🎉 The greatest pedagogical and parental goal for students and children in the 21st century economy, dominated by creativity and innovation should not be about what they know, but much more about how they think. KC's vision for education is to de-emphasize the value the school system places on what grades students have while actively figuring out ways to promote their enthusiasm for learning and interest in creative expressions. sustainable development #Innovation #Criticalthinking #knowledgeCenterkc #stemeducation #sdg4qualityeducation #Creativity #happynewweek

In District Diamer, where educational opportunities for girls face significant challenges, the READ Foundation’s Community-Based Accelerated Learning Spaces (CBALS) project is creating a transformative impact. CBALS is dedicated to promoting girls’ education by: Improving Access: Establishing safe, accessible learning spaces in remote areas to reduce barriers such as distance and cultural constraints. Accelerated Learning Opportunities: Providing condensed and tailored curricula to help out-of-school girls catch up on their education and re-enter the mainstream system. Community Engagement: Collaborating with parents, local leaders, and communities to raise awareness about the importance of girls’ education, fostering a supportive environment. Empowering Female Teachers: Training and employing local female teachers to create a culturally acceptable and inspiring learning atmosphere. Bridging the Gender Gap: Targeting out-of-school girls to reduce disparities, ensuring every girl has the chance to learn, grow, and contribute to society. By addressing key barriers to education, CBALS is not just providing knowledge—it’s empowering a generation of girls with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to shape a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Together, we can create a more equitable world where education is a right for all. #GirlsEducation #READFoundation #CBALS #EducationForAll #DiamerDevelopment #EmpowermentThroughEducation
