TL;DR: so long, Impressions! The reporting metric for Facebook & Instagram will now primarily be Views. Views will show us the number of times a reel or video has been played, or the number of times content appeared on a screen. This is the way it's been for Instagram for a while - and now Facebook & Instagram will be the same. #Facebook #Instagram #socialmedianews

We love consolidated metrics 👏 “Creators will now have a single distribution metric for all content types that’s calculated the same way across Facebook and Instagram. The new metric – called Views – tells you the number of times a reel or video was played or the number of times photo or text posts were on screen, and aligns with Instagram’s recently updated metrics.” #Facebook #SocialMetrics

How you’re going to grow on Facebook this week… It's actually really simple! You're going to NATIVELY post Facebook reels. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 I know right! How would have thought? It's so easy to auto-publish through IG, but let me tell you why NATIVE Facebook reels are the best way to grow. 1. Facebook is selfish. Even though IG and Facebook are both in the Metaverse, Facebook boosts videos that are made natively. Using facebook fonts, audios, and other features literally gives you a home court advantage. 2. Analytics. Have you noticed that when you post from Instagram, you don't get the same access to analytics. Reporting and measuring is very important, especially if you experimenting with strategy. Posting natively allows you to see all the analytics to prove if you're successful or not. 3. It's just easier. Auto-publishing can come with glitches, audio problems, quality problems, and so much more. This makes it harder for viewers ro watch your content, which decreases your views, reach, engagement, and overall growth. Facebook doesn't have to be hard. Did you know this?

1. YouTube now requires creators to disclose AI-generated content with a new checkbox in Creator Studio, aiming for transparency in videos; AI-generated scripts and production elements, however, do not need disclosure. 2. Instagram is reportedly extending the maximum length for Reels from 90 seconds to 3 minutes, potentially expanding creative possibilities for users, amid Meta's reported increase in Reels views by 20% year-over-year. 3. Google completes its March 2024 spam update rollout, introducing new policies targeting scaled content abuse, expired domain abuse, and site reputation abuse to enhance user experience and combat spam in search results. 4. According to Google's Gary Illyes, high-quality web pages with significant "search demand" are crawled more frequently, as Google's algorithms prioritize pages based on search demand feedback, indicating a correlation between quality content and increased crawl frequency. #DigitalMarketing #WeeklyUpdates #CatalystsTeam #IgniteYourBrand

To stay relevant within your audience, building community is key.
The Death Of The Follower - The Next Era Of Content Creation Forbes However, the 2010s ushered in the "decade of ranking," where platforms like Facebook began prioritizing content based on engagement algorithms, effectively breaking the direct creator-fan relationship. "My fans don't see as much of my stuff anymore," Conte lamented. "It's harder to sell tickets to a show, it's harder to reach people with my new work, it's harder to build community, it's harder to build a business." The situation was exacerbated by the rise of TikTok and it's "For You" feed, which abandoned the concept of subscriptions altogether. Instead of seeing content from creators they chose to follow, users were served a constant stream of videos curated by TikTok's algorithms. https://lnkd.in/gfW5egQk

📉 Why Facebook is Losing Ground to TikTok 📈 In today’s fast-evolving digital landscape, TikTok is quickly overtaking Facebook in popularity. Here’s why: 🔹 Engaging Content: TikTok’s short, dynamic videos captivate users with quick, entertaining content, keeping them hooked for longer. 🔹 Youth Appeal: Younger audiences are flocking to TikTok for its vibrant, trend-driven experience, while Facebook’s user base skews older. 🔹 Algorithm Efficiency: TikTok’s algorithm personalizes content exceptionally well, offering a highly engaging and tailored user experience. 🔹 Privacy Concerns: Facebook’s history of privacy issues has driven many to explore platforms with perceived better data security. 🔹 Simplicity vs. Clutter: TikTok’s focused, streamlined approach contrasts with Facebook’s diverse and sometimes overwhelming array of features. Adapting to these shifts is crucial for staying relevant in the digital space. Let’s keep an eye on these trends and continue innovating! #SocialMedia #MarketingTrends #TikTok #Facebook #DigitalStrategy
