This month our spotlight is on Rick Tobel. Rick is our lead for our Chicago Terminal Barge Cleaning and Repair service. We had a chance to ask Rick some questions…   Q: What do you love most about your job at Middle River? A: Pay Day!   Q: What is a dream that you want to make come true one day? A: It would be a dream of mine to be in management at Middle River someday.   Q: Who are some of your biggest influences? A: My Kids   Q: What has been your most meaningful accomplishment so far? A: Learning how to operate all the different heavy equipment in the Middle River fleet.   Q: What tips or advice would you give someone starting a new job at Middle River? I always cringe when I see a video of myself, but after watching a few times, it takes me back to how I felt back in December when I was in Nashville for Barge Design Solutions Corporate Orientation. We had our Annual Meeting in Nashville this past weekend, where the entire Barge team (and our families) were invited for a weekend at Opryland! The weekend only got me more excited for what's to come. Main takeaways: 1. Ownership: While Barge is privately held, our stock has out-performed most companies on the NYSE over the past 3 years and growth projections don't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. The ability to have ownership in the company you work for brings on a whole new level of excitement and authenticity to the day to day work. 2. Legacy: Barge's record of getting "selected when it matters the most" has led to an unbelievable portfolio of high profile projects around the Southeast. We are excited to continue that legacy here in South Carolina. 3. Impact: The work we do, whether it be for the private sector, state and local sector, or the federal government, has made a lasting impact on businesses, communities, patients, and our military. We are people taking care of people.

It's complicated to navigate. We need industry to help us define what that looks like for EVERY occupation but we're here to help make the rest simple.
