At the "Vision for Malta's Future" conference organized recently in Malta by Malta Strategic Partnership Projects (MSPP Ltd), the country's PPP Unit, headed by CEO Marisa Marmara', the discussion focused on how #PPP can benefit #Malta, what sectors it could be most appropriate for, and how it can be implemented in ways that sidestep past failed experiences in this domain. An important topic on the agenda was also how to undertake small-scale PPPs (#SSPPPs) efficiently. The conference drew a large audience from Malta's private sector. WAPPP | World Association of PPP Units & Professionals was delighted to assist MSPP in the organization of this conference and several WAPPP members shared their expertise in PPP policy, small-scale PPPs, healthcare PPPs, and PPPs of maritime ports. These last two sectors being of special interest to the country. The WAPPP team included Dr. Eyup Vural AYDIN, Erik Wehl, Dr. Varun Goyal, and myself. Other speakers included Edward Farquharson and Vincent Girard from the European Investment Bank (EIB), as well as representatives of Malta Development Bank and academia.
