The new Procurement Act comes into effect in February and presents the greatest procurement reforms since World War II. It's an exciting opportunity for businesses of all sizes to help transform and improve the quality of UK public services, while enabling innovative, capable, and growth-minded SMEs across the breadth of the UK to have greater access to public sector contract opportunities.
As the Founder of a scale-up, mid-market business and member of Cabinet Office's Public Sector Procurement Innovation and Reforms Panel, I advocate for policy that ensures a level playing field for SMEs and removing non-essential barriers to public sector contract opportunities.
I'm delighted to support Government’s preparation and readiness programme for the new Procurement Act and encourage all suppliers, particularly SMEs and scale-ups, interested in doing business with government and the public sector to attend the upcoming Cabinet Office webinars for suppliers on the 23rd and 24th of January.
These sessions will focus primarily on the key changes being introduced by the new Procurement Act; how the new central digital platform will work (featuring a live demonstration); and will be an opportunity to ask questions regarding your own considerations and preparations for benefitting from the new provisions.
Join us in preparation for the act by booking your place using the links below:

Friday, 24 January 2025 (11.00-12.00): https://lnkd.in/eGvSnRYz
I am really encouraged by the investment that Cabinet Office has made in ensuring understanding, readiness and preparedness, including assembling the dedicated supplier information page on GOV.UK which is easy to navigate and holds lots of useful information and videos on how to ensure you can benefit from the new opportunities introduced by the Procurement Act.

Making the Procurement Act a success for everyone starts with strong and diverse participation from SMEs and scale-ups across the marketplace. I encourage everyone in the SME and Scale-up community to take this opportunity to inform and upskill your people, so you can unlock the potential of the new Procurement Act for your business when it goes live in February.
