The Utah Transit Authority has received a $62.8 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration to fund the new Midvalley Express (MVX) Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route! This 7-mile, 15-station, all-electric BRT line will deliver fast, frequent, and reliable public transportation to Salt Lake County. This transformative investment in our community, made possible by the Infrastructure and Jobs Act, will: 🚍Improve accessibility and promote economic development. 🚍Support thousands of working students and professionals. 🚍Prepare the region for the 2034 Olympic Games, connecting Frontrunner and the Maverik Center, a planned Olympic venue. The project is 30% complete and set to begin service April 2026. Way to go, UTA! #RideUTA #busrapidtransit #BRT #WhereMatters #TransportationPlanning #InfrastructureAndJobsAct

1wUTA should ask the cities along the route to allow urban development worthy of such a financial investment. Why have rapid transit when the cities continue to only allow suburban single family detached development.
