Anniversary Series - Celebrating 75 Years of Resilience and Stability In 1988, Foremost in Lloydminster, formerly known as Universal, took on an exciting yet challenging new venture—building tank trailers (video below from the Lloydminster Archives). This marked a significant shift from our traditional products and was a strategic move to keep our shops busy during a local economic downturn. This adaptability has been a hallmark of our journey, allowing us to navigate nine national recessionary periods since our founding in 1949. For us in the Albertan energy sector, 2014 stands out as a challenging year, especially in shallow gas production, largely affecting our production of gas separators and coil tubing rigs. Rather than stalling, Foremost adapted, launching our Hydrovac division in Stettler, which has now produced over 1,500 units since its inception. Through these changes, we’ve not only survived but thrived. This “surviving and thriving” embodies one of our core values: Stability. Financial strength, product diversity, and a commitment to cultivating technical expertise are the foundations of this stability, empowering us to weather economic highs and lows and emerge stronger every time.

MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE ! 😎 They sometimes get longer, we have bars up to 40’/12m. They sometimes get bigger, we have bars up to 16”/406.4mm diameter. They sometimes get even more expensive. But that bar of Alloy 925 has been a precious commodity over the last 12 months Tom Skubala, and we wouldn’t want to scrap it either 🥶🥶🥶 Alloy 925 has been used an alternative to Inconel 718, similar strength but at a lower cost - the trade-off is lower corrosion resistance, but sometimes that is acceptable for the conditions in a given oil well 🛢️🛢️🛢️ #nickelalloys #stainlesssteel #oilandgasindustry
"I'm glad I never scrapped one....." Our intrepid reporter Tom Skubala recently visited Langley Alloys' Newcastle-under-Lyme site in Staffordshire. TEAM FOCUS SESSION - FOR VECTOR CORROSION MIDDLE EAST TEAM These sessions are SO useful to get everyone aligned & focused. They're thought-provoking & practical, & always result in demonstrable behaviour change in the team afterwards - & I really enjoy facilitating them. Engineers are great to work with too, as they're so straightforward & keen to learn new stuff - & Laith Haboubi & his Vector Team are a great example of that. Some of what we covered included... • recognizing what each person brings to the team • understanding the ‘team collective’ & dynamics • improving collaboration & alignment within the team • agreeing how to leverage this learning for 2025 & beyond So all very useful & practical - & these Team Sessions are an excellent way to get your team aligned & focused on the year ahead. #besuccessfulonpurpose #businesscoaching #teambuilding #teamfocussession
Great team building session with the Vector Corrosion Middle East team.. thanks to Tricia Evans for guiding us through a powerful reflection of our strengths and weaknesses #strongertogether#wesavestructures#durabilityengineering

A fascinating look at the last day of hot metal typesetting at The New York Times. Two takeaways: 1. Tech changes but skill and experience are adaptable. 2. A successful organization needs all kinds of talent that might at first seem irrelevant to the core mission.
