I always find simple measures to improve quality quite fascinating. Had lunch in the Great Kabab Factory in Radisdon near Chennai Airport on way to Vellore with my team member. My plate had a design as you can see to signify non vegetarian and my partner got a plain white plate to indicate he was vegetarian. Simple measure which meant waiters could make out by themselves what is to be served to who. Very simple. How many times it happens that we have to tell waiters to serve non veg and veg to different people on the table every time they come to serve. Maybe different colour plates would be even better. #service #quality #excellence #customerservice #customerfocus #hospitality #restaurant

Making Lives Easy or Tough? Recently, I noticed a box of freshly made chutneys in a local supermarket. Initially, I thought it was a one-off display, but the next day I saw a different flavor, and then another dish the day after that. Intrigued, I asked the store owner about it. He explained that he initially offered cut vegetables, but many customers requested ready-made dishes. That's when he decided to introduce fresh chutneys and other ready-to-eat items daily. In a city like Coimbatore, where we have instant access to everything through services like Instamart, Big Basket, and Jio Mart, this initiative brings a refreshing, native touch. It’s not just about convenience - it’s about preserving the tradition and freshness that define our local cuisine. This approach caters to the immediate needs of customers while providing a sense of home and authenticity. It’s a reminder that even in our fast-paced world, the simplest, freshest offerings can bring the most comfort and satisfaction. How are local businesses in your area adding a unique touch to modern convenience? Share your thoughts!

Indian cuisine’s diversity—from the bold flavors of the South to the rich heritage of the North—reminds me how food truly connects us all. Last week, I had the chance to showcase FSIPL’s food service solutions at the NRAI- National Restaurant Association of India event in Chennai, followed by HPMF in Lucknow. There are two distinct culinary regions, but both face the same challenge: fluctuating input prices and a shortage of skilled manpower to drive expansion. From ‘Vannakkam’ in Chennai to ‘Namaste’ in Lucknow, it became clear that scalable solutions are essential to maintaining standards, reducing wasteages and meeting unpredictable demand without depending on skilled manpower. Food Service India Private Limited's food and beverage solutions is the answer to all these challenges which was very well received by the industry veterans. #IndianCuisine #SouthIndianFlavors #NorthIndianHeritage #FSIPL #FoodService #NRAI #HPMF2024 #CulinaryInnovation #Hospitality

If you don’t adapt to changing times, You will become lost in the crowd. The food industry is no exception as consumer choices are changing at such a rapid pace, With more consumers preferring to dine out after a productive workday, For convenience and to cater to their palate, The Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) is leading with 38% market share, followed by 30% by cloud kitchens. As we incorporate technology into it, the growth will be phenomenal. While we only have food outlets now, I envision a fine dining restaurant with focus on signature menu options, and a stunning ambience. With time, I will scale it in a systematic way. The food industry in Chennai is poised for substantial growth, with projections estimating a surge from USD 77.54 billion in 2024 to USD 125.06 billion by 2029, at a robust CAGR of 10.03%. #growth #consumers

Fried Chicken: The Fastest Growing Segment in India's QSR Market? While pizza and burgers have long dominated the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) landscape, there's a new contender on the block: Fried Chicken! Once a segment monopolized by KFC, fried chicken is now McDonald’s fastest growing segment, contributing to ~10% of its revenues. Interestingly, India has almost 4 pizza outlets per million people compared to just 1 per million for fried chicken. This isn't because India is predominantly vegetarian. In fact, 70% of India eats non-veg, and in South India, this figure rises to 90%. Moreover, South India is more profitable for food businesses due to cheaper rentals. With the organized QSR chain market expected to grow at 32% p.a. from FY23 to FY27, there's a massive whitespace for more QSR fried chicken brands to come up in cities like Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and Kolkata. The market share for fried chicken has grown from 7% in FY19 to 10% in FY22. KFC has grown its stores to almost 800 by the end of FY23, with its Same Store Sales Growth (SSSG) at 33% year on year for the past 3 years. So, as we witness the rise of fried chicken in the QSR market, one question remains: What's the next big food item in the QSR industry? #QSR #friedchicken #foodindustry #marketgrowth Kansaltancy Ventures

A compelling example of cloud kitchen innovation is Sodexo India's recent foray into the market. In September 2023, they launched a tech-enabled off-site kitchen in Hyderabad, capable of producing 25,000 meals daily. This kitchen utilizes temperature-controlled vehicle deliveries to cater to clients across various sectors, demonstrating the scalability and efficiency of cloud kitchens. The initiative highlights how cloud kitchens can efficiently serve large volumes while maintaining high standards of food quality and delivery efficiency (BlueWeave Consulting). Key Features: High Production Capacity: The ability to produce 25,000 meals daily. Temperature-Controlled Deliveries: Ensuring food quality and safety during transport. Sector-Specific Catering: Serving diverse clients in ed-tech, pharma, and BFSI sectors. This example underscores the potential of cloud kitchens to efficiently scale operations and maintain quality, making them a viable solution for large-scale food service needs. #CloudKitchen #FoodTech #Innovation #SodexoIndia #TechEnabled #FoodIndustry #Hyderabad #FoodQuality #OperationalEfficiency #Scalability #EdTech #Pharma #BFSI #BlueWeaveConsulting #Catering #FoodService #Sustainability
