How will Trudeau bankrupt Canada? “Gradually, then suddenly”. We must stop the Trudeau/Guilbeault/Singh axis of climate hysteria before “suddenly” arrives! Their environmentally-ineffective virtue-signalling raises the cost of whatever projects that are not outright blocked. Canada’s GDP continues to falter, not because hard-working and innovative Canadians are not pulling their weight, but rather because of the value-destroying policies and practices of this government. For example, see the costs imposed on the Transmountain pipeline due to anthill protection. Heaven forbid our citizens receive comparable attention and support for value creation rather than default degrowth. https://lnkd.in/eiDv22mC

The Trans Mountain pipeline expansion, stretching from Edmonton to Burnaby, BC, is now operational, transporting nearly 900,000 barrels of oil daily. Originally proposed by Kinder Morgan, it was bought by the federal government after facing legal and environmental opposition, with costs soaring from $7.4 billion to over $34 billion. The pipeline boosts Alberta's economy but has sparked environmental concerns in BC. While some Indigenous groups see economic benefits and consider ownership, others emphasize environmental risks. The project has brought local economic gains but faces ongoing opposition due to environmental impacts. The federal government will not be deciding what happens with Alberta’s land or resources. Albertans will decide - including communities, Indigenous people, farmers, hunters, resource workers and stewards of our beautiful province - how to best manage provincial lands. This report is yet another example of Minister Guilbeault blatantly ignoring the Canadian constitution and pretending to engage with provinces to carry out his radical, ideological agenda. We will continue to conserve and protect our land, water, air, and biodiversity through a made-in-Alberta approach. Any plan we put forward will represent Alberta’s values, not Ottawa’s. New date set for Biden’s Angola visit: Staff Reporter THE official visit to Angola by American President Joe Biden, initially scheduled for October 13 to 15 but postponed due to the devastating Hurricane Milton in the United States, has been rescheduled. Biden will now visit Angola during the first week of December. According to a report by the Voice of America (VOA), quoting a White House spokesperson, Biden will, during his visit to Luanda, reaffirm the USA-Angola relations and recognize Angola’s role as a strategic partner and regional leader. PICTURED: President Joe Biden shakes hands with President Joao Lourenco of Angola during a meeting in the Oval Office on 30 November 2023. Photo: AP Photo --- Also on the agenda are discussions on increased collaboration in security, health, and economic partnerships, including the G7’s Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGI) initiative, focused on the Lobito railway corridor. In 2023, the U.S. and the EU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Angola, the DRC, and Zambia, underscoring a commitment to develop the corridor as a transcontinental railway network of free access. Initially, it will connect the mineral-rich regions of the DRC and Zambia with the Angolan port of Lobito, with the eventual aim of linking the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Indian Ocean in the east. The 1,344-kilometre railway traverses Angola from Lobito and runs eastward through important cities such as Benguela, Huambo, Kuito-Bié, and Luena before reaching the town of Luau on the DRC border. 112 advanced natural resource projects worth $196 Billion on hold, shelved or cancelled. There’s a transference of wealth and then there is a creation of wealth. Canada is deindustrializing in a bad way. All those great high paying blue collar jobs are trapped in $200 billion of beurocracy. The not in my back yard mentality is destroying Canada’s economy. Canada is number 1-2 in many natural resources yet we are having a flight of capital. The recent reduction in capital gains exemption will further exacerbate that flight of capital.

🦺💵Congress greenlights emergency funds to Rio Grande do Sul amid floods The Brazilian Congress approved a decree declaring a public calamity in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul due to the heavy rains and floods. The decree authorizes the federal government to leave part of the expenses to face the calamity out of the primary result target (according to Brazil’s fiscal framework, the government must pursue a zero-deficit budget for this year). Other restrictions under the Fiscal Responsibility Act are also waived. The state of calamity will be valid through the end of the year. Separately, the federal government has also authorized the payment of BRL 580 million (USD 113 million) in budgetary earmarks for hundreds of cities across the state. Congressman Osmar Terra, a Rio Grande do Sul native and the decree’s rapporteur in the House, said it “opens the doors for the government to allocate resources” on “an important scale.” 🔗Read more in our full article by Cedê Silva here 👇 https://lnkd.in/dSt-S8wu #ClimateChange #Floods #RioGrandeDoSul
