Nearly a quarter of rural schools in Aotearoa New Zealand struggle with substandard drinking water: https://lnkd.in/gVPnrJEy We believe every student across Aotearoa New Zealand has the right to safe drinking water—and it’s equally important that learners gain a deeper understanding of water: the science, the challenges, and the solutions behind delivering clean, reliable drinking water. That’s why we’ve been proud to support initiatives like the House of Science NZ and the Wonder Project, which provide valuable learning opportunities for schools and their students - inspiring rangatahi to engage with the science of water and empower them to become future kaitiaki of this vital resource. Both programs are great learning opportunities. But they are in need of industry support if they are to continue. Can you become a Wonder Project partner or help with sponsorship and/or donation. https://gofund.me/b1a4cec8 Hello LinkedIn friends, I am fundraising for the One Million Trees 4 Kilifi organization in Kenya. The funds raised will be used to plant fruit trees, specifically mangoes, avocados, oranges, and lemons, within schools in Malindi- Kilifi County, Kenya. The primary objectives of this initiative are to address malnutrition among school-going children, give the learners green spaces to sit under during the hot seasons, and mitigate the environmental challenges faced by the region, including the need to call back the rains that have gone missing for many years. Note: This youth-led organization is participating in my dissertation research so donating to them is a way of supporting my research.

♻ As an M&E building services leader in decarbonisation with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, DL M&E Building Services were looking for a way to dispose of unwanted IT equipment in an ethical and sustainable way. DL Executive Assistant, Danny Milner, contacted a UK based charity called The Turing Trust. Founded in memory of Alan Turing, the charity seeks to honour his altruistic spirit by recycling and refurbishing unwanted IT equipment and providing it to those who need it most. Our proposed donation of 33 laptops will help to support the education of children in Malawi and the UK, empowering digitally disadvantaged communities to learn vital digital skills and revolutionise their futures using technology. Using recycled equipment, the charity have helped over 250,000 students and offset more than 6,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The Turing Trust offer a zero-cost solution to WEEE disposal, ensuring secure data destruction. The charity accepts full legal liability for donated equipment and after a second life in schools all equipment is recycled locally to ISO 14001 standards ensuring their programmes provide maximum benefit to both people and the planet. Last week, a Coat Drive was launched by the Sustainability Society at BCU which allows students and staff to donate any unwanted coats which are still in good condition for other students to use so that they can keep warm in the cold, winter months 🧥 This has been put into place by the society after it was highlighted that international students hadn't anticipated quite how cold it would be when they got here!❄️ The coat rails are located at the BCUSU Reception on the first floor of Curzon Building - go here to add your unwanted coat to one of the rails, or if you are in need of a coat feel free to take your pick from the coats on the rail. This initiative is a great way to reuse unwanted clothes, prolonging the coat's life cycle and saving it from landfill. #BCU #Birmingham #City #University #SDG #Sustainability #Sustainable #Environment #Environmental #Development #Goals #SDG12 #Responsible #Consumption #Production #The #Global #Goals #CoatDrive #Donation

Community Development the Cocoa360 way. Led by our Agricultural Officer, parents of our basic six(6) wards, last Tuesday, fulfilled their monthly visit to the community farm. As the sustainability wing of our model, the community cocoa farms - and the proceeds from the sale of its produce, ensures that our girls are educated and their families medically cared for. For the parents, the benefits of farm visits far extend beyond the provision of education for their wards and medical care for them all. On the community cocoa farms, they are introduced to scientifically advanced practices and methods of farming which they are able to apply on their own farms for greater yields. Here's how a community insures and ensures the education and healthcare of its people. As we enter Ramadan, let's reflect on the struggles faced by those in third-world countries. For children at Shaheed Haroon Academy, electricity isn't just a convenience - it's a lifeline for learning. Yet, the constant noise and costs of generators disrupt their education. This Ramadan, we have a solution: solar panels. By donating, you'll provide a stable electricity source for lighting, internet, and more. Let's make education a right, not a luxury. Help us raise $16,000 to light up their futures by donating generously. Jazakallah Khair. https://lnkd.in/guHDMptK
