This week marked the midpoint of our first five years. As I was taking this photo I was thinking about the amazing achievements of this group of outstanding scientists in such a short time! Over 60 PIs spread across the whole country (one is actually abroad!) in more than 20 prestigious institutions working on #preclinical #mousemodels to accelerate the pace of discovery of both #diagnosis and #therapy in important #disease areas such as #cancer, #CongenitalAnomalies, #microbiome, #haematopoiesis, #NeurologicalDisorders, #MitochondrialDiseases #ageing, also developing new technologies to modulate #protein levels in vivo and generate complex #alleles using the most up-to-date #GenomeEditing methods. Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell NMGN Microbiome Cluster MRC MitoCluster Karen Liu Pleasantine Mill sara wells Ben Davies Anthony Isles Andrew Wood Robert Pitceathly Laura Greaves Walid Khaled Karen Blyth Louis Chesler David Kent
We’re now half way through our first round of funding and planning the next two and half years! What a blast it has been so far! Getting together at the Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell never gets old and we even had some sunshine!☀️

Planning event experiences has always been my jam, but there is NO event quite like the Minnesota State Fair. This document captures it all: the attention to detail, the reality of giant masses of people gathering in one place, and the pure joy when it all goes to plan!

ICYMI: "The program also includes a generous incentive of up to $9,000 for a new EV lease, or up to $2,500 off a used EV lease. The maximum incentive is available for leases on a three-year term, or longer. People earning 300% or below of the federal poverty level are eligible for the program’s incentives. That works out to earnings of less than $45,180 annually for a single person or less than $93,600 for a family of four. The program will run through June 2025 or until funds run out." https://lnkd.in/g9Wqe7qi
Today was a beautiful day in the PNW. Luckily, I spent most of it outdoors helping to pull together a media event for the launch of Washington's new EV incentive programs.

As we approach Memorial Day, I want to share some valuable insights inspired by a recent commencement speech that resonated deeply with me. These lessons can impact our approach to our careers and lives. Let’s take these lessons to heart as we spend time with our loved ones and appreciate the moments we have. You've probably heard, "Nobody ever looks back on their life and wishes they spent more time at the office." Well, that depends on the job. If you hate your job and don’t leave, that’s on you. But if you find work you love, you’ll never regret the time you invest in it. Work can be a source of immense satisfaction and purpose. Here in our team at Bankers Life, we are like worker bees—dedicated, industrious, and essential to the hive. Embrace the beauty and elegance of our work, and find fulfillment in every task you undertake. Effort always yields a positive value, even if the outcome isn’t what you hoped for. The act of trying, of putting in the work, is never wasted. Whether it’s crafting the perfect policy, resolving a client’s issue, or analyzing data, give it your all. Just swing the bat and pray. This approach might sound simple, but it’s effective. Dedication and hard work will always move you forward, even through failures and setbacks. In our industry, attention to detail is paramount. Whether reviewing a client’s policy, analyzing market trends, or ensuring compliance, vigilance can make all the difference. Stay alert and mindful of the details. Paying attention not only prevents costly mistakes but also enhances our ability to serve our clients effectively. Let’s remain sharp and diligent, understanding that our attentiveness directly contributes to our success and reputation. Fall in love with what you do, even the small aspects of your job. It’s easy to become passionate about the big wins and significant achievements, but true fulfillment comes from appreciating the day-to-day tasks. We are privileged to work in a field that allows us to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Let’s not shy away from this privilege but use it to its fullest potential. As we take this Memorial Day weekend to honor and remember those who have sacrificed for our country, let’s also cherish the time we have with our loved ones. These moments are precious and fleeting. Spend time with family and friends, share stories, laugh together, and create lasting memories. The lessons we take from our work—dedication, attention, and joy—apply equally to our personal lives. As we strive for excellence in financial services, let’s integrate these principles into our daily routines. Work diligently, stay vigilant, find joy in our tasks, leverage our privileges, and keep our sense of humor. By doing so, we not only achieve professional success but also build a fulfilling and rewarding life. This Memorial Day weekend, let's honor the past, embrace the present, and look forward to a bright future. https://lnkd.in/eekjWSij

In 2018, Clemson University formed the adaptive sports program, which provides athletic opportunities to students with mobility impairments. Today, Clemson remains the only university in South Carolina to offer adaptive sports as well as a related concentration in recreational therapy as a part of Clemson PRTM - Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management. Jasmine Townsend, one of RHBSSI's faculty fellows, is the director of the adaptive sports program in addition to being the recreation therapy program coordinator. Learn more about Clemson adaptive sports and how Dr. Townsend has led the program to success in Clemson World's recent feature. Click here to read this illuminating article: https://lnkd.in/eAihRdYt

Famous last words of many a manager: “Let’s do some AI, I’ve heard great things about it” AI can do great things for your company. No doubt about it. But if you start building your Great AI App (tm) and suddenly discover that your data is in 47 different excel files, an old Access database and a bunch of post-its on a manager’s monitor you are going to regret not taking up Sigli’s offer.
Now is a good time to plan a competitive advantage for next year. Christmas giving all around!
