🌍💧 Exciting Progress in Masaka, Uganda! At WaterHarvest we’re thrilled to share the success of our ongoing schools programme. Building on the achievements of our pilot project in Kayijja, where we constructed 4 water tanks, we have now completed 43 tanks across 9 schools. We're currently planning 14 more tanks in Phase 6 of our programme. 🚸 By installing roof rainwater harvesting tanks, we aim to provide safe drinking water, improve health, and ensure more time in school, unlocking all the educational benefits that follow. 📊 The impact is clear: data from the schools with completed tanks shows a 23% increase in girls' attendance and a 25% rise in enrolment on average. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this initiative directly supports: - **SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being** by reducing water-borne diseases. - **SDG 4: Quality Education** by improving school attendance and performance. - **SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation** by providing safe and reliable water sources. Join us in celebrating this milestone and continue to support our mission to bring safe water and brighter futures to the children of Masaka. 🌟 #WaterHarvest #uganda #SustainableDevelopment #CleanWater #QualityEducation #SDG3 #SDG4 #SDG6

There are donation bins on every corner in São Paulo which has become a hub for collecting supplies and donations destined for Rio Grande do Sul. Some people may be hesitant to donate money because they are unsure if it will reach the intended recipients or if it will be mismanaged by organizations. However, donating money is often more effective than donating physical items in disaster relief efforts for the following reasons: a. Monetary donations allow relief organizations to purchase exactly what is needed, when it's needed. They can allocate funds to purchase goods locally, which can often be more cost-effective and timely than shipping physical items from distant locations. b. Coordinating the transportation, storage, and distribution of physical items can be complex and costly. Money allows relief organizations to streamline these processes and focus on delivering aid efficiently. c. Physical donations, especially if not precisely what's needed, can sometimes create logistical challenges and result in wasted resources. Money minimizes this risk by allowing relief organizations to purchase precisely what's required. #DisasterRelief #DonateNow

Transforming Lives in Kalangalo: Providing Access to Clean Water At Kalama your friend community based organization in Kalangalo, Uganda, we are committed to tackling the critical water crisis in the region. With 900 residents facing a severe water shortage, the nearest water source is nearly 2 miles away in the forest. This scarcity not only poses risks like kidnapping and drowning for children but also affects their education, as they often miss school to fetch water. Moreover, the lack of water hampers agricultural activities, leading to food insecurity due to drought conditions. To address this, we have launched a GoFundMe campaign to build a well within the community. This well will not only provide a reliable water source but also transform lives, ensuring a brighter future for Kalangalo. Your donation, regardless of size, can make a significant impact. By contributing to our campaign, you are helping provide clean water, safeguarding children, and empowering the community. Together, we can create lasting change, giving every child the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Join us in this mission by donating today and sharing this campaign with your network. #KalangoloWaterCrisis #CleanWaterForAll #ChildrenOfKalangalo #FoodSecurity #CommunityDevelopment #HumanitarianAid #SocialImpact #GoFundMe #CharityDrive #MakingADifference Link to donate and support:(https://lnkd.in/dK8bcFTK)

Clean Water for Schools is one of the projects that Project Waterfall has been supporting, with help from UCC's donations. It is a five-year programme carried out by Project Waterfall's partner, WaterAid UK, addressing the urgent need to improve poor water, sanitation and hygiene conditions common to many schools in sub-Saharan Africa. Without access to clean water in schools, children will often spend 1-2 hours of each school day walking to collect water, which is often unsafe to drink. Access to a clean water source in schools means children can spend more time focusing on education, and improved hygiene leads to less disease, increased attendance and increased performance. The result? Economic growth and a brighter future for whole communities. To mark #UKCoffeeWeek, we are sharing some of the recent projects that our donations to Project Waterfall have helped to fund. Since 2016, UCC has donated over £170,000 to support clean water projects in coffee farming communities. #UKCoffeeWeek #ProjectWaterfall #UCCcoffee
