The SELEX process has revolutionized the way we identify and utilize these powerful binding agents, offering a robust method to develop highly specific and effective aptamers. Aptamers are short, single-stranded DNA or RNA molecules that can bind to specific targets, such as proteins, peptides, small molecules, and even cells. They are analogous to antibodies in their ability to recognize and bind with high specificity and affinity but are much smaller and simpler in structure.
