Proud to share another successful wellbeing initiative at Waterways Ireland! Last week, our Working Well group hosted an inspiring Men's Mental Health event that brought together exceptional speakers and practical wellness approaches. 🥗 We kicked off with expert nutritionist Sarah Keogh from Eatwell, who shared valuable insights on how nutrition impacts mental health and overall wellbeing. 💪 Kevin O'Hagan from the Irish Cancer Society provided crucial health awareness information, providing staff with the necessary knowledge and cancer preventative strategies. 🧘♂️ Darren Giles led us through an energising session combining mindfulness, kinesiology, and physical activity - proving that wellness can be both beneficial and fun! 🎯 The event culminated with a powerful talk from rugby legend and mental health advocate Brent Pope, whose personal journey and insights resonated deeply with staff. At Waterways Ireland, we believe that investing in our people's wellbeing isn't just an initiative - it's a fundamental part of our organisational culture. Events like this help break down barriers around physical and mental health discussions and provide practical tools for maintaining wellness. #WaterwaysIreland #MentalHealth #WorkplaceWellness #EmployeeWellbeing #MensHealth #WorkingWell

World Mental Health Day At BMSI, we understand the importance of supporting the well-being of our employees. This year, we want to shine a light on the initiatives we have in place to promote a healthy work-life balance and overall well-being: 🚶♂️ Active Travel Program: Encouraging walking, cycling, and sustainable travel, helping both the environment and your fitness. 💬 Mental Health Support Network: With dedicated Mental Health First Aiders across the UK, we ensure there’s always someone available to provide guidance and support. 📈 Team Wellbeing Surveys: We regularly gather feedback from our employees to understand their needs and adapt our approach to ensure everyone’s wellbeing is a priority. 🤝 Wellbeing Committee: Our employee-led committee meets regularly to discuss health and wellbeing, driving initiatives that directly respond to the concerns and ideas of our team. We understand that it’s not always easy for people to reach out or ask for help when they need it. That’s why all of us need to look out for one another. A simple gesture, like inviting a colleague for a cup of tea in the office kitchen and asking how they’re doing, can create a space for connection and support. Sometimes, it’s the small, thoughtful actions that make the biggest difference. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAwareness #BMSI

A Dose of #lifestylemedicine Celebrate World Wellbeing Week by creating the space to reflect on ways to prioritize your health and happiness. Sometimes we discover the path forward by taking a step back so that we can intentionally plan for becoming the best version of ourselves. Bringing awareness to our values empowers us to create goals that align with those values. It is in the stillness that we can find peace when we take the time to discover what we really want and need in our lives to prioritize our physical and mental well-being. Clarity can arrive in the moments when we are fully present and have separated ourselves from the chaos that has the tendency to seep into our daily lives. Our social connections provide many benefits that can improve the quality of our lives and contribute to longevity. It can be tempting to give so much to others that we neglect our need for self-care that is necessary to refuel our internal resources. Being more curious and less judgmental enables us to approach others with more empathy so that we can improve our interactions and understand perspectives that differ from our own. We can Redefine our Health by slowing down to become more fully present in choosing the behaviors that will be a long term investment well-being 💜 #worldwellbeingweek #coaching #leadership #wellness #wellbeing #behaviorchange #workplacewellbeing #workplacewellness #humanresources #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #wellbeingjourney #corporatewellbeing #corporatewellness

Consulting professional services firms have unique #wellbeing challenges. Consulting has a demanding, high performance culture that attracts driven people. There is a danger that people work too hard and don’t get enough down time. We have a clear well-being strategy in place at Pick Everard underpinned by our wellbeing through compassion programme. This values driven programme has seen us rethink our approach in numerous ways - from improved occupational health services, to enhanced wellbeing rewards, to wellness plans and mental health training. Read more from Pooja Mistry, Head of People Experience here: https://lnkd.in/eaxzHj6H July saw Pick Everard launch a brand new well-being initiative - Wellfest. Running straight off the back of our reward roadshow, we specifically targeted areas of wellbeing we wanted to drive a stronger focus to. 🏃♀️Physical health was high on the agenda with office walks, and our first women's health webinar. 👬Geoffrey Hughes launched our men's health forum, a new regular forum providing a safe space for male colleagues to explore and support physical and mental health challenges. 🥗We welcomed the fantastic alison worship from Worship Worth Experiences to run nutrition and diet webinars, sharing best practice advice on the right foods. 🧘♀️Our Leicester team benefitted from chair yoga and meditation with a fantastic session from Tal Singh and his team. 🗣️We ran a mental health first aid session to remind people to reach out to qualified colleagues around them. 📑And we launched a new mental health toolkit specifically focused on how differences in ethnicity and culture will change how people experience and access support for mental health, with new sources to signpost people to. A huge thank you to everyone involved in attending or contributing to Wellfest. Particular thanks to Maria Clowes who did an amazing job in facilitating all of this fantastic opportunity at very short notice! Of course, we'll be measuring the impact and considering what next for our wellbeing through compassion programme as we continue to support our people with their health. #healthandwellbeing #beingpickeverard #peopleengagement
