Still settling back into Melbourne after an incredible trip to LA attending the Future Proof event for the second year running. Outside of the spectacular weather, this year was particularly special as several members of the Wattle Partners | Retirement Wealth Specialists team also came across for the experience. Among my biggest takeaways were that the US may continue to lead Australia in terms of user experience and a narrowing focus on specialised areas of advice, but Australia is making significant progress in this regard. Similarly, the scale and size of the advice market in the US means the professionalism of advice business is more evolved, but an influx of capital into Australia, and the growing advice gap offers an opportunity for those wanting to grow. The commitment to client outcomes is refreshing. While US advisers benefit from a broader range of client-facing technology, Australia is coming along quickly. I’m looking forward to attending again next year and bringing more new and exciting ideas to retirement advice in Australia, and to Wattle.
