It is the measurement of #gamma radiation produced by the emission of the same radiation (gamma-gamma); and depends on the density of the matrix, #porosity and density of the fluids filling the pores; Density logging is mainly used to determine porosity, identify #lithology (along with Neutron logging), detect #gas-bearing zones and #overpressure zones. ▪️Neutron: is a nuclear method based on the emission of high-speed, high-energy neutrons from a #radioactive source. Depending on the number of hits, it can be used to assess #rock porosity; Neutron logging is mainly used to determine porosity and lithology. The Neutron φ and density φ log are combined in one track, where the scale of #Density is set between 1.95 to 2.95 g/cm3 and #Neutron between -15 to 45%; The density-neutron crossplot helps determine lithology and fluid content, mainly in the pure lithologies such as #sandstone, limestone and dolomite. In General, - The density_Neutron log give a direct measurement of the total porosity. - The combination of the two logs used to recognize the lithology - Create #acoustic impedance by combining Density log and acoustic #velocity from the #sonic log. 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 #UNITUS 𝐍𝐮𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 📄 A new scientific paper titled "Effects of Seismic Isolation on the Dynamic Behaviour of the DTT Torus Complex During Earthquake Events" has been published in Fusion Engineering and Design journal. 🌍 It details the latest advancements in the construction of the Divertor Tokamak Test (#DTT) fusion machine at the ENEA site in Frascati, Italy. The location has been identified as being at high seismic risk. Preliminary analyses of seismic effects from local response spectra have been carried out on the structure, namely the cryostat base, supporting the vacuum vessel, the magnets and the cryostat, using both static equivalent and dynamic methods, and a reference design has been obtained. 🛠️ An update of the geological seismic surveys for the site showed a more severe local seismic response than previously considered. The analyses based on the updated seismic response revealed potential structural criticality for the base. Therefore, two possible seismic isolation solutions were considered to reduce the stress state.
