What’s at the top of WE Communications’ 2025 wish list? WE Global CEO Melissa Waggener Zorkin hopes to see more communicators harness the power of AI to build human connections. As she tells PRWeek: "My biggest wish for 2025 is that communication becomes a true bridge, powered by AI's brilliance but grounded in humanity's heart. Let technology amplify our creativity and empathy, so brands not only tell stories but also heal divides and inspire trust in a world that needs it more than ever." Here, here! https://bit.ly/3VNbqd6

How can #AI companies stand out, engage media, and drive coverage? With nearly 58,000 AI companies in operation, competition for attention is fierce. Compounding the challenge is increasing 'AI scepticism' from the press, making authenticity and trust even more important. To discuss this issue and more, we held an exclusive AI Collective webinar featuring leading tech journalists Nick Huber and Joe Fay, TFD's CEO and founder Stephanie Forrest and Director Gemma Goatly. We're always keen to attend industry events and webinars. So we were pleased when Prowly recently launched a series of PR episodes, covering everything from AI and the human touch to metrics and mental health. Here are THREE things we found of particular note, in relation to AI: 1. The human touch is always going to be needed in PR Jennifer Berson discussed how AI can be used to automate repetitive tasks, leaving PR professionals with more time to focus on creative and strategic thinking and developing more personalised connections with journalists. Jennifer Moxley also spoke about the benefit of using AI as a partner, not as a replacement, in PR. "I see it (AI) no differently than hopping on a call with a colleague. We'd get on a call and say we cannot get a story, what's an idea? What have you seen? What's happening culturally? AI can be the catalyst. Of course, the human element is the one that makes sure the timing is right, the language is appropriate, and the person on the receiving end is the appropriate person." 2. AI is going to make journalists (and readers) even more cautious Fake news is still a concern, and now we have to worry about whether a news story, comment or blog has been whipped up in a matter of seconds by a bot. Journalists are likely to be even more diligent as a result and will find new ways of fact-checking content from third-party sources. Maria Gergova-Bengtsson believes this will create "a lot of challenges in the business of trust and miscommunication, misinformation, disinformation". She argues that one solution lies in education, teaching children to have a critical eye on what they read and what they see. 3. The conversation around AI is just getting started Not a day goes by that we don't learn something new about the capabilities of AI. Ari McDaniel (Ari Kill),M.A. spoke to Prowly about the growing number of companies that are creating roles specifically for AI, in order to have an expert on their team. She advocates agencies having their own internal AI expert (or at least someone who hones the skill more than others), while another speaker raised the thought-provoking question as to whether companies should have dedicated AI policies in place for employees and/or clients. #PR #digitalPR #digitalmarketing
