As UK businesses gear up for anticipated employment law changes, drawing lessons from other countries can provide valuable insights. From the "right to disconnect" to adjustments in maternity leave protections and unfair dismissal laws, employers are advised to start reviewing their policies now. Looking at models from EU countries like Ireland and Belgium can offer valuable guidance, particularly around probation periods and dismissal procedures. Early preparation, including engaging employees, is key to staying ahead of the changes. #employmentlaw #UKbusinesses #futureofwork

It is therefore vital for #employers to be on top of this information and Laura McFadyen's helpful article makes that all the easier to do 👇 #EmploymentLaw #HR #EmploymentRightsBill

We saw the new Employment Rights Bill announced today, which marks a significant moment for both employers and employees and is the single biggest overhaul to workers’ rights in the UK in recent years. 👇 There is a lot in the proposed legislation for employers to get to grips with, impacting all aspects and all stages of the employment relationship - in particular the removal of the current two-year qualification period before employees qualify for unfair dismissal protection. 👇 While the government is going to consult on the use of probationary periods to make it easier to dismiss an employee in the first months of service, the removal of the qualifying period for unfair dismissal will fundamentally change how employers approach dismissing recently hired employees. As the Bill passes through parliament, it will be interesting to see if a balance is struck between safeguarding employee rights and maintaining flexibility for employers. #employmentlaw #employmentrightsbill https://lnkd.in/eGdYpP6F
