Thanks for the summary Otti Vogt! Yes, it is important to take a holistic lens if we want to change the system, going from extractive finance to regenerative finance. But, as we also touched upon in the discussion, we should not wait for 'the system to change'. It is also bottom up initiatives, innovative financial instruments that serve the real economy and trial and error that will inspire the system to change. But it can never be that we expect that the same logic, with expected returns higher than the growth of real economic activities corrected for negative effects, can be a yardstick for a sustainable future.

"it requires virtuous institutions" Virtue for an institution is not a function of morality. It is a function of institutional faithfulness to its institutional purpose. When it comes to Finance, every institution is constituted around a core technology for: 1. aggregating savings set aside by others for a purpose, for a time; 2. deploying those aggregations as money supplied to enterprise for its use, for a purpose, for a time, at a cost add on terms; 3. collecting the cost of money charged to enterprises; and 4. sharing charges collected from enterprise with the savers whose savings are the original and ultimate source of money supplied to enterprises by the financiers. In our modern 21st Century economy we can identify six core technologies of aggregation and deployment: 1. patronage for IMPACT through Family & Friends; 2. grants for MISSION through Church & Philanthropy; 3. subsidies for POLICY through Taxing & Spending (Government); 4. loans against PROPERTY through Banking & Insurance; 5. private ownership equity for SCALE through Exchanges & Funds (the Capital Markets); and 6. social stewardship equity for COHESION through Pensions & Endowments The virtue of these institutions is their faithfulness to their technology Instead of analyzing these institutions to assess how virtuous they are, let's talk about how faithful each is being in exercise the institution powers of its core technology true to its institutional purpose. Let's start with Pensions & Endowments. What is their institutional PURPOSE? What are their institutional POWERS? Are they being true to PURPOSE in how hey are exercising their POWERS?
