I was burned out and out of work, and honestly, I didn’t know what my next move would be. After taking a step back, and spending time traveling to recharge, I started thinking about what was next, feeling both excitement and uncertainty.   At that moment, Carl Hallam reached out, asking if I’d help with his start-up while his co-founder, Steven Taylor, was out of the office. Those few days reignited something in me. I felt the energy of building something new, of being part of a vision. Then Carl and Steven did something I hadn’t anticipated... they offered me a chance to join them as a director and co-owner.   Despite my excitement, the decision wasn’t easy, especially with no stable salary on the table and a house to support. But with my wife Maja Lemezovic Smith’s support and encouragement, I decided to take the leap. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The last few months have been a journey of resilience, reinvention, and finding purpose in what we do for our clients.   Receiving this nomination feels like a celebration of that journey. Not just for me, but for everyone who took a chance on us and believed in our vision. This recognition is a reminder that every challenge has been worth it. En apenas una hora, explican los principales errores a la hora de emprender y cuáles son las claves del éxito. Os dejo mis notas de hoy: 💡1. Modelo de negocio: No es necesario reinventar la rueda. La idea no vale nada. Invierte en un producto real y factible en un mercado sin líderes y con amplio recorrido en cuanto a público objetivo y tamaño del mercado. Ajusta la oferta a la demanda. Las ideas iniciales acaban pivotando. (Si puedes que sea a SaaS) Copiar (en lugar de inventar) pero mejorando la ejecución. Busca un negocio escalable (no basta que sea viable ni rentable) Quien mucho abarca poco aprieta. No abras geografías ni verticales sin consolidar el product market fit en tu área de influencia inicial. Busca ser rico. No rey (y si lo haces, que sea con tu dinero). 🤝2. Equipo: Firma el divorcio el día de la boda. Un 2/3 de los socios no están en la compañía al tercer año de vida. Minimiza los socios zombies. La primera y más importante inversión debe de ser un buen pacto de socios. Si piensas emprender y quieres ahorrar tiempo y dinero no dudes en contratar un BUEN abogado, un buen fiscalista. ⏰ 3. Momento: No te precipites: Busca el momento en el que puedas dar el 100%. Felicidad (Full mind) + Colchón financiero (Full time) ⛔️Red flags: NDA Founder Unipersonal.
