On the final day of #16DaysofAcvitism - We would like to emphasize that our fight is not isolated. We are not purely trans people - that is merely one part of who we are. We consist of women, disabled people, sex workers, people fighting the caste system, people fighting against genocide, people who use drugs, people living with HIV, etc. We cannot be free unless everyone is free. Together, our movements are stronger. #NoExcuse #Transfeminism #GenderBasedViolence

World AIDS Day 2024 promotes the theme “Take the rights path: My health, my right!” to champion the right to health by addressing the inequalities that hinder progress in ending AIDS. Ending AIDS requires that we prioritize and reach everyone who is living with, at risk for or affected by HIV, including men who have sex with men, transgender people, people who inject drugs, sex workers, and people in prisons and other closed settings, as well as their partners. So much progress over my life time but still so much to do. #Inequalities #WorldAIDSDay2024

stigma and discrimination has hindered the disclosure process and thus also affecting adherence to treatment and attaining our 96.95,95 targets. HIV stigma is rooted in a fear of HIV. There are still misconceptions about how HIV is transmitted and what it means to live with HIV today. The lack of information and awareness combined with outdated beliefs lead people to fear getting HIV. Talking openly about HIV can help normalize the subject. It also provides opportunities to correct misconceptions and help others learn more about HIV. But be mindful of how you talk about HIV and people living with HIV. We can all help end HIV stigma through our words and actions in our everyday lives. Lead others with your supportive behaviors. #EndHIVEndEpidemics #UndetectableEqualsUntransmissable #StopHIVStigma AIDS and Rights Alliance for Southern Africa Aidsfonds UNAIDS
Stigma & discrimination obstruct women & girls living with HIV from accessing vital services. Up to 26% face denial of treatment unless they accept compulsory contraceptives. To protect women’s health, we need to protect women’s rights. #InternationalWomensDay

Stigma and discrimination are killing more people than the virus itself. Despite laws protecting the rights of people living with HIV, workplace discrimination remains a serious issue. Too often, individuals face exclusion, mistreatment, and career setbacks simply because of their HIV status. But a person’s potential has nothing to do with their HIV status. It's time to challenge these biases, create inclusive workplaces, and support everyone in reaching their full potential—regardless of their HIV status. Let’s focus on what really matters: talent, skills, and humanity. #EndHIVStigma #SRHR4All #InclusiveWorkplace #HIVAwareness

"Education empowers and protects girls, reducing risks like HIV and gender-based violence while unlocking their leadership potential. By creating safe spaces and economic opportunities, we pave the way for sustainable development. Let’s continue championing girls’ education and leadership for a brighter future. #NoExcuse #GirlsEducation #GenderEquality #Empowerment #LeadershipMatters #SustainableDevelopment"
There is #NoExcuse for gender-based violence, yet 1 in 3 women will experience violence in their lifetime. We must counter patriarchy and poverty to keep girls in school, and we must provide women and girls safe spaces, economic opportunities and ensure their recognition and leadership. Education is protection. Ensuring girls can complete secondary school can reduce their risk of HIV infection and reduce their risk of gender-based violence. We must also fight rigid gender norms and stereotypes that perpetuate unhealthy masculinity and violence based on gender. UNAIDS is committed to protect the rights, health and dignity of all women and girls.
