𝐔𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 🚀 🔬 I am a firm believer in the power of bringing the brightest minds in their respective fields together to come up with novel ideas that go beyond the status quo. That’s why I am incredibly excited that Beiersdorf has sealed the largest academic research alliance in its company history in the US. Together with the renowned Columbia University (NYC, USA) we will further push the boundaries of skin science. So here are some interesting facts about our joint research forces: 🔹 We aim to identify new intervention strategies and solutions to improve skin conditions. This includes, e.g. the development of novel in vitro skin models, validating dermatological targets, and identifying (dermo)cosmetic compounds to create superior new products for the global face care market. 🔹 Particular focus lies on the research fields of “Skin Aging” and “Skin of Color.” For these, Columbia University research groups can submit project proposals. The most promising ones will be funded and supported from in-house Beiersdorf facilities including our molecular biology labs, formulations labs, safety & toxicology assessment, or modelling teams. 💡 And we already kicked things off with a pilot project to establish and characterize an innovative in-vitro skin wrinkle model. This access to excellent science underpins Beiersdorf's commitment to constantly setting new standards in skin care as a leading global innovator: And it is another clear testament to our #WinWithCare strategy. I cannot wait to find out what innovative insights and findings this new strategic collaboration will hold, and I am absolutely convinced that the future and success of skin care research is based on exactly such team-ups 🧪💪🏼 #BeiersdorfPioneers #SuperiorityThroughScience #SkinScience #Research #SkinOfColor #AntiAging #Innovation 💙

🌟 Exciting Breakthrough in Multi-Color Fluorescence Detection! 🌟 Hey everyone! We’re thrilled to share some cutting-edge research that’s revolutionizing the way we detect multiple targets using fluorescence quenching immunoassays. Here’s what you need to know: 🔬 What’s New? Researchers have developed a novel method using anisotropic plasmonic blackbody (APB) particles with a unique chrysanthemum-like shape for ultra-efficient quenching across a broad spectrum of colors. 🚀 Why It’s Cool: 1️⃣High Sensitivity: The APB particles show exceptional fluorescence quenching ability (90.1%), which means clearer and more accurate results. 2️⃣Broad Spectrum: These particles can handle a wide range of light (300-800 nm), making them perfect for multi-color detection. 3️⃣Practical Use: Successfully used in detecting contaminants like chloramphenicol and sulfadimidine in milk with incredibly low detection limits. 🔍 The Science Bit: Using a special polydopamine (PDA) method, gold particles are grown into a 3D structure that’s super effective at absorbing and quenching light, leading to this breakthrough. 💡 Real-World Impact: This advancement is a game-changer for food safety, medical diagnostics, and environmental monitoring, ensuring more reliable and rapid testing. 🚀 Excited to announce our latest publication in Biointerface Research in Applied Chemistry with IFIA Research Innovation Teams Department! 🎉 Our research, titled "Preparation and in vivo Evaluation of an Astragalus Gummifer Hydrogel-Based Dressing for Excisional Wound," delves into innovative wound healing solutions using natural biopolymers. We explored the efficacy of Astragalus gummifer (A.G.) combined with pecan oil in creating a hydrogel dressing that significantly enhances the wound healing process. Key Findings: Antibacterial Properties: Our hydrogel exhibited strong antibacterial activity against both Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Accelerated Healing: In vivo studies on Wistar rats showed complete wound healing within seven days using a 0.8% pecan oil concentration. Biocompatibility: The hydrogel was well-tolerated, with no signs of skin irritation or allergic reactions. Methodology: We prepared the hydrogel by dissolving A.G. powder in distilled water and incorporating pecan oil. This formulation was then tested for antibacterial effectiveness, skin sensitivity, and wound healing efficiency. This study showcases the potential of natural biopolymer-based hydrogels in advanced wound care, offering a biocompatible and efficient alternative to traditional dressings. A heartfelt thank you to my dedicated team for their hard work and commitment to this project. Together, we are pushing the boundaries of biomedical innovation. 🔗 Read the full article here https://lnkd.in/dsD3AFzf #WoundHealing #BiomedicalResearch #Biopolymers #Innovation #ResearchPublication #BiointerfaceResearch #AstragalusGummifer
