I guarantee - if you’ve applied for a grant & didn’t win it’s due to 1 of 3 reasons: (I mean enterprise grants - aka grants typically given from corporations between $500-$250k - aka NOT government grants) Let’s start with the biggest culprit: 😭 NO CLEAR USE OF FUNDS ❌ if you state “this grant will have a major impact for our business!” They need to know WHY & HOW ✅ quantify the return on proceeds invested in specific areas of the business to make them confident I’ve reviewed & even selected hundreds of grant winners over the years so this is from pure experiences. 👉 If you had to list the other 2 reasons - what would you guess?

What do funders want? 🛑 They don't want you to convince them why you need support. ✅ They want you to understand their priorities and demonstrate how you can help achieve their goals. Funders give you information to prepare a compelling case for support, whether you're developing a grant application or strategic proposal.
