MYS Day 1 done. 19,900 steps (didn’t realise until 1159 that I was just short of the magical 20k) A day spent mainly checking out all the tenders and toys. Of course the latest Falcon Tenders Limited SOLAS tender caught my eye. Who knew it was possible to make a SOLAS tender look so good? What’s far more interesting however is that she runs on HVO, giving of about 10% of the carbon emissions of a vessel using standard diesel/petrol. A little research has unearthed a number of larger vessels can/do run on it too. Could HVO be the key to yachting cleaning up its emissions? Can we run the fleet on repurposed McDonalds cooking oil?
