There isn't everything GLAM at The Good Glam Group despite their recent fundraising of $30 million at a flatter valuation through a rights issue to meet their working capital requirement The round is planned for $70 Million fundraising and the rest is expected to be pumped in by external investors at a similar valuation. The Good Glamm Group, a content-to-commerce house, received funding from various investors. The #US based Warburg Pincus LLC invested Rs 129 crore, while Prosus Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners (#India) and Accel invested Rs 95 crore, Rs 12 crore and Rs 8 crore, respectively. In total, the startup has raised $270 Million to date. Started by Darpan S. in 2017, the group resorted to inorganic growth in the 2021-22 period with co-founder Priyanka Gill from digital media platform POPxo | Good Glamm Group in 2013, and Naiyya Saggi from online parenting startup BabyChakra | Good Glamm Group in 2015 joining hands to from the group. The Problems: 📌 Meeting the pending vendor payments 📌 Resorting to a 10% layoff to reduce the burn 📌 Extreme pressure due to the failure of Thrasio which is also faced by GOAT Brand Labs 📌 Co-founder Rpiyanka Gill stepping down to join Kalaari Capital as a venture partner 📌 Revenues grew from Rs 50 crore in FY21 to Rs 210 crore in FY22 and reached Rs 650 crore in FY23. Had an amazing time attending the iHub Innovation Hub of Utah event hosted by Corbin Church last night! His work in Utah County is truly helping startups thrive.   It’s always great getting to hear from Todd Pedersen whose leadership at Vivint has been transformational in my life.   Todd gave GREAT advice throughout the night. A few takeaways. - Stay lean as a company/ keep expenses low - Don’t forget what got you there (focusing on customers) - Resist the urge to start splurging when an investment check comes in. It isn’t real revenue. - If you are only in it for the money at the exit, the company will fail along the way - The sale of Vivint or any other exit didn’t bring any extra happiness to his life, it was the relationships and satisfaction of building the business that did.   We have a saying at Hughes Marino, “Enjoy the Journey”. We wear the motto on many of our T-shirts. If you don’t find joy in the journey and are only hoping for something down the road to bring joy, it will likely never come.   I love getting to work with young companies and helping them navigate the confusing landscape of leasing Office/Warehouse spaces for their young companies. It can often be very confusing and overwhelming when signing a lease for your company and going up against a sophisticated Landlord, but with the right guidance, companies can thrive in their real estate decisions.   #iHub #startups #Utah #EnjoyTheJourney

Adam Neumann's bid to reclaim WeWork through his new venture, Flow, strikes me as more opportunistic than visionary. Splashing $600mn might seem impressive, but peeling back the layers, it's a clear strategy to snag WeWork's vast property portfolio on the cheap. And despite WeWork's rollercoaster history under his watch, Neumann's still drawing investors like moths to a flame. How does he do it? And more importantly, why are heavy hitters still willing to back him? I will never understand, but I guess it's a testament to the allure of big personalities in the startup world. A few weeks ago, I had the incredible honor of being selected to attend the Precursor Ventures Pre-Seed Boot Camp, and it was truly a game-changing experience. The event brought together an inspiring community of founders and investors, creating the perfect environment to ask vulnerable questions and gain clarity about what it takes to thrive as a pre-seed company. One of the most impactful takeaways was realizing that half the battle is simply being in the room. Having this opportunity to connect with peers and ask the hard questions in a safe space was both powerful and transformative. Here are a few key lessons I’m taking with me: 💡 Being in the room matters: Having access to the right spaces and people is half the battle. 📊 TAM (Total Addressable Market) and team are critical: Investors want to see the opportunity and the founder-led strength behind it. 🔍 Know your problem inside and out: Understand the problem you’re solving so well that it’s undeniable why you are the person to fix it. The experience reaffirmed why I’m so passionate about the work we’re doing at LiQUiD creating tools that empower salon owners and hairstylists to make smarter, data-driven decisions about pricing, operations, and client experience—so they can run sustainable, profitable businesses. A huge thank-you to Charles Hudson, Ashtan Jordan , and the team at Precursor Ventures for organizing such an impactful event.
