Awkward indeed. As we're all getting used to AI and GenAI and privacy rules and laws, Meta's move to not only require people to opt out (vs. opt in) the user also has to state why they don't want their data on FB and IG being used to train AI models is astonishing. That's a huge #fail, AI at Meta. I speculate very few people actually read Privacy Statements, in the age of AI, it may be a practice we all embrace. What are your thoughts on this? Are you going to delete your FB and IG accounts? What about Whatsapp? Is there room for a social media platform that is more friendly to using your data? Dennis Dayman, would love your thoughts on this.

Wired reports: OpenAI Exploring Responsible Generation of AI Porn through ChatGPT According to an article, OpenAI is exploring how to responsibly generate AI porn. The company has released draft guidelines that suggest it is considering allowing the generation of explicit content. OpenAI's current usage policies prohibit sexually explicit materials, but the company is considering ways to responsibly provide such content through its API and ChatGPT. The Model Spec document outlines that NSFW content may include erotica, extreme gore, slurs, and unsolicited profanity. It is unclear if OpenAI's explorations of explicit content generation will involve loosening its usage policy slightly or allowing descriptions or depictions of violence. The company has stated that it does not intend for its models to generate AI porn, but users may ultimately decide for themselves if the technology produces adult content. OpenAI's exploration of explicit content generation has raised concerns about the potential for harmful applications of the technology. A concerning trend is on the rise – apps and websites using AI to undress women in photos. In September alone, 24 million people visited such sites, says Graphika, a social network analysis company. These "nudify" services are using popular platforms like X and Reddit for marketing, with links advertising them increasing over 2,400% this year. The real worry is that AI is being used to create fake nude images without people's permission, mainly targeting women. This raises big ethical questions about privacy, security and consent. It's high time to regulate the AI industry to prevent the misuse of AI in ways that violate people's rights and societal norms ~ Be Internet Secure #SecurePurple

So…Meta can soon recreate YOU through their AI? Meta (Facebook, Whatsapp, Insta) is using your posts, pictures, content to train their AI model. And they make it very hard to object to it. (Manual, fill forms, get code…) To opt-out go to privacy policy, there’s an ”you can object to this” link. This takes you to a page where they want you to write why you object. Just inform them you are not comfortable with them using your data, there is no transparency or guarantees to what data is used for now or in the future, the model cannot untrain your data, and refer to privacy policies and data protection. (Esp in the EU). Click on submit, wait for a code to your email, add the code and resubmit. This worked for my FB, but I got an error message for Insta. Will try again. https://lnkd.in/d4S-pjb8

:- Rise in AI-Based Explicit Content Ads on Facebook and Instagram Popular social media platforms Facebook and Instagram experienced a noticeable influx of ads promoting explicit artificial intelligence, as reported by Wired. "AI girlfriends", a category of digital companions, have become a burgeoning area of concern due to their overly sexualized and objectified depiction of women. Users are sharing screen captures of such ads, reporting having received them despite their online behaviour in no way indicating interest for such content. Building on AI technology, these digital partners are designed to adapt and react to user's preferences and patterns, however, critics fear their explicit nature may contribute to the devaluation and objectification of real women. This matter raises questions about the efficiency of ad-targeting algorithms and the potential for manipulation of privacy settings by advertisers. Facebook has said that ads promoting sexual content violate its policy and are not permitted on the platform. However, a spokesperson from Facebook admitted the company had errors in its enforcement and promised to correct these mistakes. Discussions are ongoing about the ethical implications, the reliability of AI, and whether an increased regulation of such ads might be necessary. #AIEthics #AdTargeting #DigitalPrivacy Join MarTech community here: https://tally.so/r/3NWD6B for Exclusive updates. Big Tech's watermarking plans bring welcome positive news #copyrights 🤝 Follow us on Discord 🔜: https://lnkd.in/gt823Zd3 🤝 Follow us on Whatsapp 🔜 https://wapia.in/wabeta _ ❇️ Summary: Tech companies are implementing measures to better detect AI-generated content following the Taylor Swift deepfake porn scandal and political deepfakes. Meta will label AI-generated images and Google will include watermarks in AI-generated images. OpenAI is adding watermarks to the metadata of images generated with ChatGPT and DALL-E 3. While these methods are promising, they are not foolproof. The hope is to create barriers and friction to slow down the creation and sharing of harmful content. There are also binding regulations and renewed interest in passing binding rules on deepfakes. Hashtags: #chatGPT 1. #TechWatermark 2. #GoodNewsInTech

#OPEN #AI entering #SEX #BUSINESS ?! “If you can’t beat them, join them!” Is the old maxim. Now OpenAI is taking special twist to that saying. 👙 Eversince start of the #ChatGPT-era, Large Language Model (#LLM) companies have been actively distancing from generating spicy or explicit content. TrIng to install guard-rails amd prevention for users to use generative AI for touchy content. That seems to be over. 🍆 While big, commercial players where building china-walls around #NSFW (not-suited-for-work) creations, Internet (mainly through open source engines) was sprinting full steam in generating adult content. 🚧 Not sure, if sudden wave of liberalism or wish to grab that vast market of NSFW content was the driver behind recent change in OpenAI’s stance on this topic, but in recent document about security of their models, they publicly admitted they were thinking about how to (in tamed manner) start to generate pornographic and explicit content. 😉 Well as said, if you can’t beat them, join them ;) https://lnkd.in/eNGEiEgt
