This community is going from strength to strength. WE initially built, and am continuing to build, this community with the sole aim of providing our incredible network of retail leaders with a platform to connect and collaborate solely with like-minded people who experience the same challenges, see the same trends and consider and utilise the same solutions. There is no vendors, no sales, no BS. There is, however, really great conversation between really great people. It’s a safe space — operating under Chatham House rules — to share ideas, to learn and to enable one another. Conversations so far have been around: ✅ ERP systems and implementation ✅ eCommerce Platforms and Strategy ✅ Omnichannel Strategy ✅ AI use-cases ✅ Project & Product Delivery ✅ International Trading and Strategy ✅ Digital Transformation …And a few other interesting, important and relevant topics. In-person events will be run exclusively for the community, and some have even been planned off the back of the conversations within the group — which will enable deeper peer-to-peer learning and insight sharing, relevant growth of everyone’s networks and a stronger sense of community amongst the group. We have 115 members currently. Some of the absolute BEST Technology, Digital and Transformation leaders across the retail industry, with a broad range of brand sizes and categories represented, from across the UK, Europe, USA, Asia and the Middle East. WeComm & WeTech have received some amazing feedback on this group — and as a testament to its relevance and usefulness, a few members have been referred by mutual connections to join. As the year wraps up, I’ve been reflecting on an incredible journey in the ever-evolving world of telecommunications. Driving digital adoption for TalkTalk has been nothing short of rewarding—full of highs, challenges, and invaluable lessons. This year, my team has truly shown what’s possible when passion, innovation, and resilience come together. We’ve set a new standard for rapid transformation. From building strategic partnerships to securing investments in cloud migration and contact centre technology, the hard work has paid off. As Steve Jobs said, “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.” 💡 A personal highlight for me was presenting in New York on our digital strategy / evolution and celebrating wins like becoming finalists at digital awards. Meeting industry leaders, staying ahead of emerging tech, and championing innovation made it all the more rewarding. 🌍 I’m also incredibly proud of leading the Empower Network, which has gone from strength to strength this year. Hosting webinars on topics like unconscious bias has been a fulfilling experience. What inspired me to be involved was this quote from Gandhi “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” 🌱 Collaborating with industry leaders to drive digital adoption, improve customer experiences, and unlock value has been a so exciting yet challenging. Helping others succeed has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. To my team, colleagues, and partners: thank you for your dedication, creativity, and collaboration. What an incredible time at #SaaSiestAmsterdam2024! 🎉 In addition to what I’ve already shared in my previous post, here are a few more standout speakers who resonated with me: 📊 Mimi Turner showed the undeniable power of brand recognition in B2B. Did you know that 81% of buyers choose brands already known by the rest of the buyer's group? The importance of building a strong, recognizable brand has never been clearer. 👥 Kevin "KD" Dorsey introduced his BIPSY leadership system: “Lead people, manage systems and processes.” What struck me was his emphasis on crafting the how of leadership, rather than simply focusing on the what or why. It's a mindset that truly resonates with me. 💡Leah Tharin and her "Gary" (if you’ve been to Amsterdam or Malmö, you’ll get the reference 😉) delivered an impactful session on Product-Led Growth. Her key takeaway? "Show, don’t tell." Modern sales are all about putting customer success front and centre by demonstrating value. 🤖 Rick van Esch van Esch brought thought-provoking insights about the future of AI, predicting a shift toward the "feeling economy." He made it clear—if you don’t have an AI strategy within the next five years, you risk becoming obsolete. 🔄 Barbra Gago asked an essential question: What is your Employee Lifetime Value?
