📢Excited to share our latest audit findings presented at the International Allied Health Conference (IAHC) 2024! Title: Revealing the Hidden: Improving Detection of Hook of Hamate Fractures with a Hook Lateral Oblique Radiographic View We’ve introduced a novel radiographic technique, the Hook Lateral Oblique (HLO) view, to improve detection of hook of hamate (HOH) fractures. Traditional wrist radiographs such as Carpal Tunnel View often miss these fractures due to overlapping carpal bones. The HLO view enhances visibility, showing the hook of hamate in profile and enabling more accurate diagnosis. 🔍 Key Findings: • Standard views often miss HOH fractures due to visualization limitations. • The newly proposed HLO view has shown promising results, effectively demonstrating the hook of hamate in profile, with a clear view of critical anatomical landmarks. 📊 Impact: HLO view not only improves diagnostic accuracy but also addresses practical challenges such as technique reproducibility and patient comfort. Proud to contribute to advancing radiographic practices for better patient care.

What a great way to start 2025! It was a pleasure and honor to co-author the publication of phase 3 clinical trials on Vanzacaftor-tezacaftor-deutivacaftor in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine. These are great news for the #cysticfibrosis community in terms of non-inferiority compared to the currently available triple combination (ETI), once-daily dosing, improved restoration of CFTR function, and the additional in-vitro identification of 31 CFTR variants that are responsive to vanzacaftor–tezacaftor–deutivacaftor but not ETI. Thankful for the opportunity to present with Tufts Medical Center at ICCAI 2024. With significant adverse outcomes of interventions like TAVR (10% to 20% mortality at 1 year), enhanced long term risk stratification might be useful, especially in managing elderly & frail populations, optimizing outcomes and reducing waste. The conference is hosted by the Society for Complex Acute Illness. The word “complex” here is key to our narrative, as acute illness involves multiorgan dysregulation that can be seen in loss of signal complexity at multiple time scales associated with the breakdown of nonlinear regulatory feedback loops. Our results show that selected beat scales may optimize measurement of the change in information content embedded in BP waveforms (via entropy metrics) showing different cardiac contractile function and vascular systemic elastance, which variables may directly affect outcomes. Special Thanks to Ebenezer Tolman, Ethan Brovman, Sage Tuchsen, Emery Amtmann and Timothy Ruchti
