Hello everyone!!! A ventilator is a device designed to mechanically assist or replace the spontaneous breathing in patients who cannot breathe adequately on their own. The core principle of a ventilator is to deliver oxygen-rich air into the lungs and remove carbon dioxide. It does this by creating positive pressure, pushing air into the patient’s lungs when they inhale, and helping with exhalation if needed. Ventilators operate using different modes, such as volume control (where a set volume of air is delivered) or a pressure control (where air is delivered until a specific pressure is reached). Ventilation can be invasive, requiring intubation, or non-invasive, using masks or nasal prongs.The ventilator continuously monitors the patient's respiratory parameters, including oxygen levels, lung pressures, and breathing rate, adjusting airflow to maintain stable and adequate oxygenation.
