Wondering if you’ll still need deodorant after miraDry? Here’s the answer: You CAN still use deodorant or antiperspirant, but most people find they barely need it! miraDry eliminates both apocrine and eccrine glands—so the odor-causing apocrine glands are significantly reduced. While a slight odor may remain, it’s minimal, and occasional antiperspirant use can help if needed. 📣 Don’t miss out on our limited-time miraDry promo! Call or text our nurse at (416) 473-2252 to schedule your consultation and see if miraDry is right for you. #hyperhidrosis #excessivesweatingtreatment #excessivesweating #underarmsweat #miradry #sweatcontrol

Medical-grade honey, particularly Manuka honey, is renowned for its potent antibacterial properties. This type of honey contains methylglyoxal (MGO), a compound that gives it a unique ability to combat bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant strains like MRSA. In wound care, medical-grade honey not only fights infections but also creates a moist environment conducive to healing. This helps prevent scabbing, encourages tissue regeneration, and reduces pain. Its natural anti-inflammatory properties further aid in reducing swelling and promoting faster recovery. Ideal for treating burns, cuts, and ulcers, honey has been used as a healing agent for centuries, with modern science validating its effectiveness. #snfwoundcare #nurselife #woundcarecertification

Have you heard of or suffered from Keratosis Pilaris? This condition, commonly called KP, are tiny rough bumps noticed on the back of arms, thighs and sometimes on cheeks. It can be seen in all ethnic groups and usually begins in childhood. Many times you will see this occur in families. Diagnosis is typically from a clinical exam. Traditionally it is treated with topical creams to keep most as well as prescriptions such as Topical retinoids, lactic acid, salicylic acid, steroids, and/or laser therapy. At HIWFC, we may use these bandaids while we work backwards to treat the root cause. Often times, food sensitivities and intestinal permeability can lead to this condition. When we treat this, many times KP will resolve. A good quality fish oil such as Orthomega 820 and reacted zinc also can help, both of which we carry in office! Reach out to our office if looking for support! #skinhealth #healthyskin #keratosispilaris #familymedicine #rootcause #rootcausemedicine #functionalmedicine #rootcausetreatment #directapproach #directpatientcare #healthyliving #feelyourbest #indiana #indianapolis

Hi my linkedin family, I proudly share the new video from my series of videos on Clinicals of upper limb. "Dupuytren Contracture" is a disease in which the medial two fingers of the hand get partially flexed at the metacarpophalangeal and first interplahalangeal joints. The distal interphalangeal joint there is extended. It limits the hand functions. Disease presents as modular thickenings of palmar aponeurosis that get adherent to the skin. There is high incidence of the disease in epileptics on phenytoin. The associations of the disease are smoking, alcoholic cirrhosis, diabetes, AIDS and pulmonary tuberculosis. Treatment involves the surgical excision of all fibrotic parts of the palmar fascia to set the fingers free. #dupuytrencontracture #anatomy #drsaqib #learninganatomy #like #share #support https://lnkd.in/dBxUUaBV

Maybe you’re wondering about amoxicillin and #PediDose as well? That’s a harder one because there are a variety of amoxicillin concentrations and a wide range of dosings that I’ve seen. But of all the pediatric liquid antibiotics, this one eclipses the rest... at least in the small bubbles of life where I've worked. Some people aim for 40mg/kg/day divided by three. I’ve seen people dose as high as 90mg/kg/day too. Amoxicillin comes in 200mg/5mL, 250mg/5mL and 400mg/5mL concentrations. Why? No clue. But if you choose to use 250mg/5mL amoxicillin with PediDose, then you’ll be giving 23.4mg/kg. Multiply that by three and you’re right in the 40-90mg/kg/day range. Too easy. But that is quite literally “off label”. Rescue Essentials

Central Venous Catheter application
The Central Venous Catheter (CVC)! A CVC is a lifesaver, literally. It's a tube placed into a large vein, typically in the neck (jugular vein), or occasionally in the hind limbs (femoral/saphenous vein), to deliver medications, fluids, and nutrients directly to the bloodstream of our beloved pets. The magic happens when the tip of the catheter is precisely positioned near the heart, in the cranial vena cava, above the the level of pericardial reflection, ensuring maximum efficiency and safety. Indications for its use are varied and vital: from administering long-term medications and anesthetics to managing emergency fluid therapy and nutritional support. It's also crucial for monitoring central venous pressure, guiding treatment in critically ill animals. The CVC is more than just a tool; it's a bridge between life-threatening conditions and recovery, proving that with the right care and technology, hope is never lost.
