First Official Day Back After a 7-Week Sabbatical! Returning after such a long break can feel like jumping into the deep end, so I’m curious—how do you all gear up for return to work after some extended time off? Here’s what I’m doing today to ease back into the flow: ⏰Prioritize Scheduling and Routine: With everything on my plate—work, foundation activities, Raiden’s medical appointments, and my daughter’s school schedule—getting my calendar in order is a must. 🤝Reconnect with Colleagues: Rather than jumping straight into emails, I am taking time to catch up with my team. It’s a great way to ease back into the workflow and catch up on important updates without feeling overwhelmed. 🧹Set the Stage with a Clean Workspace: One of my first orders of business was organizing my office. A tidy and personalized space sets the tone for a focused and productive day. Today, Inky from Pac-Man is my desk plushie 😬

🎂 Today, I celebrate my 5 year ‘workiversary’ at H/Advisors Cicero! I clearly remember the morning of my first day. Nervous but excited, my flatmate William insisted on a “first day at school” style photo outside our front door in Balham. Though reluctant to pose at the time, looking back it was nice to mark the occasion. In all honesty, the suit and tie haven’t enjoyed much of a run out since. It has been a great 5 years. Here are a few short reflections on my time so far… 🙏 Colleagues – top of this list for a reason! It’s been a privilege to work with such an intelligent and friendly group of people. I owe a huge amount to teammates, leaders and mentors across Cicero. 🤝 Clients – I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the worlds’ leading businesses, developing thought leadership on key issues shaping industries. There have been longstanding clients for the whole 5 years and many new clients with fresh challenges too. 🌍 Connections – My time here has coincided with Cicero’s own journey from an independent agency, to become part of Havas & H/Advisors. As a result, I have enjoyed international work experience in Paris, gained international perspectives and made some great friends along the way. 🍃 Changed working life – 8 months into the new job, the UK went into lockdown. My working week never looked the same after that point. ‘Hybrid working’ can divide opinion, but it has allowed me to enjoy a better life outside of London (in the great outdoors!). Four bullet points can't do 5 years justice (I won’t even start on the number of prime ministers since this photo was taken), but enough looking back for now, here’s to the future…

🎉 Celebrating 3 Years with Age UK Bath & North East Somerset! 🎉 Today marks my 3 year anniversary with Age UK Bath & North East Somerset. The time has flown by but I wanted to take some time to reflect on this milestone, share a few highlights and lessons learned along the way. 🌟 Highlights: • Impactful Projects: Over the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of working on several projects that have made a real difference in our community. From our Digital Inclusion Project to the development of our Memory Groups to providing Home from Hospital support right across our Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care System but crucially working with multiple partners as part of the Community Wellbeing Hub (BANES) and seeing the myriad of positive outcomes has been incredibly rewarding. • Amazing Team: I am fortunate to be surrounded by a very talented and dedicated team. We employ over 80 people at Age UK Bath & North East Somerset and their support, creativity, and camaraderie have been and continue to be a constant source of inspiration. • Personal and Professional Growth: This role has pushed me to grow in ways I never imagined. This has been my first job as Chief Executive. I'll be honest it has been a steep learning curve. I've had to develop my leadership skills, challenge my own leadership stereotypes and expand my knowledge in multiple areas. This has been made a much more enjoyable experience with the support and guidance of my Chair and Board. 💡 Lessons Learned: 1. Embrace Change: The only constant is change. 2. Stay Curious: Continuous learning and curiosity are key. 3. Build Relationships: Strong relationships are the foundation of any successful team and community. Investing in connections with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders has been invaluable. 🚀 Looking Ahead: As I look to the future, I’m excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. We have a massive programme ahead across our community working to make Bath & North East Somerset an Age Friendly Community. 🙏 Thank You: A huge thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey over the past 3 years.
