It's inspiring to see more women breaking barriers in the tech industry, a space where we were once significantly underrepresented. Today, more women are stepping into leadership roles, driving innovation, and contributing their unique perspectives to shape the future of technology. This shift didn’t happen overnight—it’s the result of countless women who fought for visibility, equal opportunities, and respect in the field. As a woman in tech and an advocate for diversity, I know firsthand the challenges many of us face—whether it’s overcoming imposter syndrome, dealing with biases, or navigating male-dominated spaces. But I also know the immense potential that women bring to the table. When we empower each other, we create an unstoppable force for change, inclusion, and innovation. At BeTechified, I’m especially proud that most of our students and staff are women. It’s a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come, and how committed we are to creating spaces where women can thrive in tech. Seeing these incredible women grow, learn, and step into new tech roles is a constant source of inspiration for me. We’re building a community where women support each other, lead with confidence, and break down barriers together. My commitment is not only to succeed but to open doors for more women to join the tech field and thrive in it. We need more voices, more representation, and more support systems that allow women to flourish, whether they're engineers, data scientists, product managers, or in any other role. Let’s continue to support, mentor, and uplift one another as we navigate this exciting journey. The more we stand together, the more we can break down barriers and create a more inclusive tech ecosystem for future generations. To all the women breaking barriers today—you inspire me. You’re my #wcw. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries. #betechifiedbootcamp #betechified #WomenInTech #DiversityInTech #WomenEmpowerment #TechLeadership #BreakingBarriers #faitholaiya

Today's Founder Friday is featuring April Hicke and Marissa McNeelands of Toast! 📍 Toronto & Calgary 🗓️ Started in January 2023 ❤️ Whether you are a woman seeking community to help navigate the tech world, or a hiring manager looking to hire more women on your team, check us out at www.trytoast.ca 💰 Take 10% off a monthly or annual membership with code WITT24 About + Founder Why ⤵️ "We started Toast to help companies increase gender diversity on their tech teams. After each spending almost a decade in the tech industry, we experienced the gender disparities first hand. With women making up only 20% of the tech workforce and being more likely than non-technical women to experience bias at work, we knew that tackling hiring in tech wasn't a simple solution. Toast aims to level the playing field for women in tech, not only by acting as a talent partner for organizations during hiring, but also by providing a safe space for women in tech. Toast's online community offers weekly online workshops, career coaching, mentorship by decision-makers in tech, and hackathons, as well as monthly member events in major cities across Canada and the US." Biggest Win So Far 📈 "In the past 15 months since we've launched, we've been able to build partnerships with nearly 100 clients that are dedicated to increasing gender diversity on their tech teams, hosted events to over 5000 women in tech across Canada and the US, and built a membership portal from the ground up in 6 weeks with a 100% woman-powered development team. All while putting impact, intersectionality, and social good ahead of profits. But overall, we've created a movement that is slowly shifting the landscape away from the voices we are used to seeing in tech, and putting more power in the hands of women in this industry. Our goal at Toast isn't to teach women how to fit in to a corporate system that wasn't made for us. Instead, we are asking the systems to change." Hardest Learning So Far 🤕 "Our learning is that as a social enterprise we still need to navigate the power structures that aren't made for us, as we fight to change them. With that comes a lot of delicate foot work and it means our activism and our impact isn't always seen, but it's felt." Send them some ❤️❤️❤️ in the comments below ⤵️ -- Thank you so much April and Marissa for trusting us with your story. The community is always here for you and we look forward to following your success and lending a helping hand when you need it.

Did you know that women represent less than 30% of the tech workforce? Our recent panel discussion brought together five female veterans who shared their experiences, the challenges they've faced, and the triumphs they've achieved in the industry. This discussion served as a valuable roadmap for current and aspiring women in tech, and highlighted several key takeaways: 1️⃣ There's no single path to success in tech – diverse backgrounds and experiences can be valuable assets. 2️⃣ Building and actively participating in communities is crucial for support and career growth. 3️⃣ Overcoming imposter syndrome often involves pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. 4️⃣ Balancing career demands with personal well-being is essential for long-term success. In case you missed it, we’ve provided some key takeaways from this discussion in our most recent article: https://lnkd.in/ePPVzBSg A huge thank you again to our panellists Kayleigh Kavanagh, Emma Chee, Marina Kim, Lilian Ho, and Natasha Stokes for sharing your experiences and practical insights on the night 👏 #WomenInTech #TechCareers #Engineering #DiversityInTech

As a woman in tech for almost 15 years, I've come to appreciate the immense value of inclusivity in driving innovation and success in the tech industry. Creating a culture where diverse voices are heard and valued not only fosters creativity but also strengthens our team and our outcomes. Inclusivity isn't just a buzzword—it's a fundamental principle that guides our leadership and operations. It ensures that everyone, regardless of background or gender, has the opportunity to contribute and excel. I'm proud to be part of a company such as Techstarter GmbH where the majority of #leadership is female and paves the way for more women in tech by teaching them in our IT-courses. Together, we're building a future where everyone can thrive. #Inclusivity #WomenInTech #Leadership #TechInnovation #Diversity #Operations #Education #IT
