Do your values drive your culture?
I’ve read a lot about purpose and values, but I’ve never seen values lived out as the standard like I did this week at 1st Phorm International.
Michael Schrader was the first person I met when I walked through the door, and he was mopping the floor. He greeted me with a smile, asked questions, and made me feel welcome.
Why?
Their core values were not only on the walls but lived out by everyone we met.
- Loyalty
- Lead by Example
- Go the Extra Mile
- Stay Humble
- Be Disciplined
- Accept Responsibility
- Take Initiative
- Build Positive & Fun Relationships
- Always Be Learning
- Be Selfless
- Be Enthusiastic
- Believe
The bathrooms were spotless, every desk was organized, the weights were put away perfectly, and the people were genuinely happy.
By the third day, the entire Dirt World crew was pitching in to remove the trash, pushing in their chairs, and helping keep the facility clean. There was a sense of pride and respect, as everyone lived by the 1st Phorm standard.
Lesson Learned: to drive your culture, live by your values, and set the standard. No exceptions.
Thank you to 1st Phorm and all who attended the Dirt World Workshop.
