Woodford Fund Close Brothers plc, A J Bell plc ~#wealthmanagement platforms #advised by Close Brothers or abrdn take action . In december i had held this fund for 18 months and noted that FTSE blue chips had been sold to finance unquoted illiquid assets. Hargreaves promoted this fund as did many others including Close Brothers plc and Andrew Bell pre the IPO. As a chartered accountant and qualified Treasurer Woodford had to write down or write off some unquoted assets and the share price would have suffered . Burford Capital and Purple Bricks had equity positions just below 29.9% for Purple and around 15% for Burford Capital. I could mention some investment trusts which enjoy throwing good money after bad as the FCA rules are egregious.I am no expert on the role Link are tasked to perform but if a client is advised then it sounds logical that the assets should be monitored and managed by the wealth firm. The KIID is a legal two page summary of risk warnings, etc and "get out of jail free". The FCA are now investigating Close Brothers plc which is around 10% owned by abrdn plc who own the interactive investor and have FCA approved cash pooling so who knows where the money is, in a bank, lent to their parent abrdn, and if investors start to withdraw the alarm bells will ring and he floodwaters may reach A J Bell who promotes abrdn via the DoDl app. This can be fixed if the FCA obliged UK funds to provide a monthly report in detail so for example Lindsell Train would have to comment on their HL exposure or Burberry both shorted.Funds would have to quantify shareholdings as a percentage of the funds value and the shareholding percentage in a company. I incurred significant fees when I followed the FCA pension transfer rules and appointed an FCA regulated advisor. There was no conflict of interest assuming my investments were merely a means to an end. My complaints were serious , ignored, and joked. " great Minds think alike or fools seldom differ" when I rejected their funds which had many replicated holdings. The players remain silent whilst the retail investor whether advised or not has no idea that the regulations are notional and indemnifies the guilty unless the NCA investigates.

Conyers assisted Macquarie AirFinance Holdings Limited (“MAF”) in connection with its issue of US$500 million aggregate principal amount of its 6.400% Senior Notes due 2029 and US$500 million aggregate principal amount of its 6.500% Senior Notes due 2031 (together, the “Notes”) in a private offering, and the listing of the Notes on the Cayman Islands stock exchange. The Notes are jointly and severally guaranteed by certain of MAF’s direct and indirect subsidiaries. MAF plans to use the net proceeds from the sale of the Notes to prepay a portion of the outstanding principal amount of the Company’s existing secured debt. The transaction was led by Partner Barnabas Finnigan in Conyers’ London office and Senior Associate Nick Ward in Conyers’ Cayman Islands office. Vedder Price acted as US counsel to MAF.
