The Young Professionals of Iowa is led by a board made up of Iowa young professionals who have a passion for making Iowa the best state to live and work for emerging leaders. We're looking to add new board members in 2025! 🔎 While our interest form is available for submissions year-round, those who would like to be considered as a new board member in 2025 should submit by Wednesday, Dec. 11. Submit your interest at https://lnkd.in/gR2fm3NC. YPs with a lot of different backgrounds could be successful on the YP Iowa board. Some who may find it particularly interesting are those who have been very involved in their local YPs and are past leadership for their YPOs; those who are exemplary in their industry associations as YP talent and want to broaden their reach; those who have a statewide, regional, or national perspective from their job or volunteer work and want to continue to connect Iowa YPs to greater resources; and so many others. A passion for what's needed to provide high-quality programming and support a statewide network are assets, too.

I'm beyond excited to share our Behavioral Threat Assessment panel submission for SXSWEDU. My mission is deeply rooted from the tragic events that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary, in my hometown. The impact from that day has driven me to dedicate my expertise in preventing violence in schools. Through this work, I honor everyone affected by that horrific tragedy, striving to create safer environments for students and educators. Our BTA team needs your Panel Picker vote to get our team and Partners on stage at #SXSWEDU 2025. Community engagement is a vital aspect of creating safer schools. Together, we build a network of vigilance and a collective effort to identify and address school safety issues and prevention. Panel Topic: The Pivotal Role of Community Engagement in School Safety School safety and violence prevention are critical issues that extend beyond the confines of the school environment. This panel aims to highlight the importance of community engagement in developing comprehensive strategies for threat assessment and violence prevention.
