🧠 Tomorrow is World Mental Health Day! This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of prioritising mental wellbeing in every aspect of our lives - including the workplace. Recent reports reveal that 1 in 10 employees took time off work last year due to mental health challenges. Even more concerning, nearly 45% of those affected were unable to return to work for a month or more*. Stress, burnout, and anxiety have become prevalent challenges, and too few organisations are equipped to offer the necessary support. As we prepare for World Mental Health Day, let's commit to: 🤗 Cultivating a culture of openness around mental health. 🤗 Encouraging employees to seek support when needed. 🤗 Providing resources such as an Employee Assistance Programme to help manage mental wellbeing. Remember, small steps like fostering connection, practicing mindfulness, and even taking a moment to breathe can make a difference. Let's strive for workplaces that don't just function but truly care. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAtWork #EmployeeWellbeing *Source: Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych), Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) and Faculty of Occupational Medicine.

1 in 5 have taken time off work due to stress, yet 90% cited a different reason. Despite workplace stress and anxiety costing the UK economy between £74-99 billion per year, and it affecting as many as 1 in 5 people each week, the stigma around managing mental health in the workplace hasn’t been resolved. Transparency and advocating for mental health is not ‘being difficult’ or ‘overly sensitive’, it’s a workplace right. At Humidity Solutions, we are committed to fostering a supportive workplace environment. As part of our ongoing efforts to promote the well-being of our employees, we will be training four more of our team members to become Mental Health First Aiders. Workplace mental health isn’t a luxury, it’s a right, and it’s only right to treat it that way.

Today is World Mental Health Day, with a focus on prioritizing mental health in the workplace. A survey by St Patrick's Mental Health Services revealed that 37% of people view work-related issues as affecting their mental health. Almost half of respondents were unaware that employers must provide reasonable accommodations for mental health challenges, and 42% would feel uncomfortable telling their boss they needed time off for such issues. Over half also believe Irish workplaces are not open to employing people with mental health difficulties. Paul Gilligan, CEO of St Patrick’s, emphasized the importance of work in well-being and encouraged initiatives like employee assistance programs to combat workplace mental health stigma. On this day, Marks & Spencer (M&S) and Jigsaw, a youth mental health charity, launched a workplace well-being program for M&S’s 1,800 staff, focusing on helping employees support young people in their lives. Jigsaw’s CEO, Dr. Joseph Duffy, highlighted the program's role in fostering conversations around mental health, while Eddie Murphy, M&S’s Country Director, stressed the importance of providing practical mental health supports to employees.

The focus of this year's World Mental Health Day (Thursday, 10 October) is wellbeing in the workplace. Morad Margoum, our interim service director for mental health and learning disabilities, said: “I encourage employers, managers, and colleagues to have regular check-ins and wellbeing conversations at work. The fact is, we dedicate much of our waking hours to work and poor psychological wellbeing can impact not only on our work performance, but on our experience of the world. Ironically, having these informal conversations and exploring solutions early is key to having better outcomes for all. “Sometimes the challenges and stresses we face in our working lives can impact our mental health and affect our ability to cope without the right support. Taking interest in one another’s wellbeing can open important dialogue and help us recognise when someone isn’t coping”. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eaePvcfq.

Today is World Mental Health Day and this year's theme is "Mental Health at Work". There is a vital connection between mental health and workplace productivity. Stigma, discrimination, exposure to poor working conditions, and lack of a trauma-informed framework can affect mental health and overall quality of life. At Anavi, we believe that mental health at work is just as important as any other aspect of our wellbeing. Taking care of our minds not only improves productivity, but it also fosters a supportive, balanced workplace. Whether it's through regular breaks, open dialogue, trauma-informed practices, or access to mental health resources, there are so many ways to prioritize mental wellbeing in the workplace. This World Mental Health Day, let's work to create environments where employees feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive. #WorldMentalHealthDay
