We have been having lots of conversations at home lately about first jobs. What was your first job? My first job was papers and babysitting, followed by years of field work (corn detassling and traffic flow operations). It was hard work and taught be the value of manual labour. I worked hard for the money earned! But today and now (outside of papers , grass cutting & babysitting - which my kids do already) - Who’s hiring the 15 year old hard working kids that need their “first job?” Why do we make it so hard for businesses to hire kids, and then make it harder for kids to get their first jobs? #firstjobs #kidsneedtowork #whoshiring

A couple takeaways here: 1. Cool job alert 😎 2. A great example of thinking creatively to build capacity where it's needed- in a way that addresses the need, fits the organization's capacity and capitalizes on local higher education assets like Fairmont State University.

HIRING! Yes I have been trying to hire. I am looking for a suitable candidate for the post of the PRINCIPAL of ADHARSHILA HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL (www.adharshila.org.in). The school is situated in a remote village and serves one of the most underprivileged communities, free of cost. The post is still vacant after advertising on all sorts of platforms, both free and paid, and interviewing numerous candidates. The applicants are of found to be of 2 types. One, the urban educationist who have tons of experience as heads of educational institutions and second, social workers who have no experience of running a school. The latter we cannot hire while the former almost always decline. We can't 'afford' them despite the offer being handsome by the industry standards. So, definitely, we are looking at the wrong place. What mistakes are we making? There are millions of people looking for a job. How do we seek the right ones out? Any suggestions?

Dearest Esteemed LinkedIn Ton, I must confess, I feel quite like Lady Whistledown these days, navigating the bustling world of recruitment. Much like the grand ballrooms of Bridgerton, the hiring landscape is full of excitement, intrigue, and the occasional drama! Here’s what we’ve learned from our favorite Regency matchmakers: 👑Profile Perfection: Just as a debutante’s dance card must be flawless, so too must your CV and LinkedIn profile. Ensure they shine brighter than the chandeliers at a royal ball. 📖Networking Novels: Imagine every coffee chat, LinkedIn message or telephone call as a chapter in your own Bridgerton novella. Who knows which connection might become the Duke (or Duchess) of your career? (Lets all hope its Colin Bridgerton) 💃🏻Interview Intrigue: Approach interviews like a waltz – with grace, poise, and a touch of flair. And remember, eye contact and a firm handshake can be just as impactful as a well-executed bow. Let’s all raise our teacups to a hiring season filled with successful matches and fewer awkward dance (or interview) mishaps. Yours truly in career matchmaking, https://lnkd.in/e9KNwCZq #Hiring #LinkedIn #Recruitment #Bridgerton #LadyWhistledown
