My first baby was Birdfilm cc. And for all those parents and business owners out there, you'll know balancing leadership and creativity is among the more complicated challenges to overcome. Leading a creative business in the film world has been quite an adventure. So, let me share a bit about what I've learned along the way. Firstly, working together as a team is a must. We've learned from "The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership" that creating a positive team spirit and treating everyone with respect makes a big difference. It's about setting good examples and building an environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to do their best. Real leaders eat last. Communication is super important, too. It's about ensuring everyone knows what's expected of them and feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas. This open dialogue helps us balance our creative goals with the practical stuff like budgets and schedules. Planning ahead has saved us more time than I can count. It means thinking about everything that could go wrong and having a plan just in case. This helps reduce stress and lets us focus more on being creative. Finding the right balance between having control and letting creativity flow is crucial. We've (mainly me…) learned to be open to surprises and changes, which often improve our projects. It's about trusting the process and each other. Lastly, leading with a positive attitude and giving constructive feedback helps everyone feel motivated. We try to ensure that our projects reflect our creative vision while also fitting with our goals as a business. One of the projects that I feel truly embodies this mindset was one that actually took place before Birdfil was born - Vitell; I really had to hit the ground running on this one…😅 I'd love to hear from other business owners if they think I've left anything out! #JumperProductions #leadership #BirdFilm
