100% Recyclable Low-density polyethylene (LDPE) is popular among roasters thanks to its affordability and high barrier properties. LDPE is flexible, durable, lightweight, and can be easily reused and recycled (#4). What sets LDPE apart from traditional plastics is the ease and affordability with which it can be reused and recycled. The production of LDPE coffee bags uses less energy and raw materials, making it easier for coffee consumers to dispose of it correctly. In areas where compostability - especially industrial compostability - is not an option, LDPE provides a sustainable solution that may prevent coffee bags from ending up in landfills. Specialty coffee roasters who switch to LDPE packaging recognize it as a good way of maintaining the quality of the coffee. Furthermore, it demonstrates a tangible move towards more sustainable practices. #specialitycoffee #coffeetime #coffee bag #coffeepackaging #packagingde sign #coffeeshop #coffeeroasters #ro astedcoffee #coffeebeans #specialtyc offeeroaster #freshcoffee #coffeepeo ple #coffeeaddicts #roastedcoffeebea ns #kaffeerosterei #kaffee #coffeefestival #coffee #food #snack #coffeelover #coffeepackaging #micr oroaster #coffeelife #coffeehouse

A New Way To Brew Three years ago, Ann and I assembled a dream team with an intoxicating mission - To Reimagine the Iconic K-Cup® for the Next 25 Years! Though cheap to produce, old- fashioned plastic K-Cups® have two intractable problems: * Their inherent porosity allows too much oxygen in to preserve the coffee’s freshness * And, despite our desires, over 90% of plastics don’t get recycled into other products and as a result end up in landfills and oceans These problems had to be addressed! Along with Ann Hutson … Enter the ex-Keurig® senior executive Dream Team – Mike Cunningham, Blaine Paxton, Lindsey Bolger, Rick Estabrook, and David Sachs who after millions of dollars and years of work have now introduced the world’s first and only patent-pending aluminum coffee pod brand for Keurig® brewers - Cambio Roasters® – “The New Way to Brew” (old-fashioned single-use plastic pods are so 2023!). Cambio is beloved by retailers and consumers because we start with the world’s finest 100% organic coffees, small-batch roast them to perfection with love, pack them in revolutionary aluminum pods that preserve the coffee’s freshness all while radically improving recyclability – and to top it all off, all at the same price the consumer is used to paying – Wow! Aluminum pods are so amazing because they are: * Literally impervious to oxygen so the freshness the roast master dreams about is perfectly preserved * Aluminum is the most recycled material in America – in fact, over 70% of the aluminum ever created remains in circulation today! Welcome to 2024 and the New Way to Brew and say bye-bye to single-use plastics. Cambio Roasters – the Worlds Better Cup

Choosing compostable packaging can help enhance a brand's existing image while attracting new, eco-conscious consumers. This, in turn, expands the brand's overall reach. Additionally, by diverting packaging from landfills, compostable bags contribute to overall waste reduction. However, there are slight challenges around the use of compostable coffee bags. Effective composting requires a specific facility or at-home composting setup, and not all regions may have access to this. Therefore, compostable bags may end up in waste streams, undermining their decomposition benefits. This is why brands must ensure custom coffee bags are compostable in the area. Beyond this, consumer awareness is crucial as improper disposal could damage a brand's reputation. #specialtycoffee #specialitycoffee #coffeebag #coffeepackaging #packagingdesign #coffeeshop #coffeeroasters #coffeeroastery #roastedcoffee #coffeebeans #specialtycoffeeroaster #coffeepeople #roastedcoffeebeans #coffeeexperience #kahve #kaffeerösterei #kaffee #baristadaily #brewedition #coffee #roastingcoffee #coffeeroasters #specialitycoffeeroasters #coffeebranding #coffeemarketing

A Swiss startup is shaking up the coffee world with a product designed not for sidewalk sipping but for outdoor enthusiasts. no normal coffee developed a highly concentrated coffee paste that comes in a squeezable aluminum tube, offering a convenient and portable way to enjoy premium coffee on the go. No Normal offers a few unique advantages for hikers, climbers, surfers and campers. Easily dissolved in hot or cold water or milk, the paste eliminates the need for brewing equipment or moisture-sensitive instant coffee. It can also be enjoyed straight from the tube — aided by being lightly sweetened — or combined with other foods like bananas or chocolate for an extra caffeine kick when water is scarce. With sustainability in mind, No Normal's aluminum packaging is minimal and recyclable. Produced in Emmental, Switzerland, the coffee paste is made using Fairtrade, organic Arabica coffee beans and Swiss organic sugar. Successfully crowdfunded in March 2024, No Normal will start shipping in June 2024. An 85 g tube sells for CHF 14 and up to 25 small or 15 large cups of coffee, depending on dosage. On Earth Day 2024, consider a few facts before you buy that next single-use plastic item: - Over 8.3 billion metric tons of plastic have been produced since the 1950s, with 79% of it still in landfills or the natural environment - The world produces more than 26 million US tons of polystyrene (plastic foam) each year, with Americans throwing away around 25 billion Styrofoam coffee cups annually - In 2017, packaging production was the highest-demanded use for plastic, with 146 million metric tons used - At least 14 million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year, with many countries lacking the infrastructure to prevent plastic pollution - When plastics end up in landfills, they break down into tiny toxic particles that contaminate the soil and waterways, entering the food chain when animals accidentally ingest them - Americans purchase about 50 billion water bottles per year, meaning that using a reusable water bottle could save an average of 156 plastic bottles annually Looking for a great alternative to those single-use water bottles?
