We’re proud to announce that WICONA is investing €14.8 million in a new remelt plant in Atessa, Italy! This strategic move allows us to increase our production of CIRCAL 75R, our low-carbon aluminium made from post-consumer scrap. Thanks to our strong partnerships with clients and suppliers, we've developed a closed-loop system where old aluminium frames are collected, recycled, and transformed into high-quality, recyclable materials. Together, we’re driving circularity forward and making a meaningful impact on decarbonisation in the construction sector. This is a major step in our commitment to promote decarbonisation within the construction sector. By expanding our reach across Europe to reduce the transport between our clients and our remelting plants, more renovation projects can benefit from sustainable materials and urban mining initiatives. Together, we are transforming the way buildings are created, one recycled product at a time. This is how we Build Beyond Tomorrow. #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #UrbanMining #GreenBuilding

Fermanagh-based eco-plastics manufacturer RE-KKUR has taken a significant leap forward in sustainable construction with a £3.75m funding package from Whiterock’s Growth Capital Fund and the Investment Fund for Northern Ireland. This strategic investment will enable RE-KKUR to expand its production capabilities, scaling up to produce over 25 million metres of plastic building products annually, while increasing recyclate production to more than 5,000 tonnes. A pioneer in the plaster bead market, RE-KKUR uses its recycled plastic material, RE-22, to create sustainable and innovative products like the carbon-negative Eco Bead, helping to reduce the construction industry's carbon footprint. Vincent McCoy, Managing Director at RE-KKUR, emphasized the growing demand for eco-friendly building materials, stating: "The investment from Whiterock enables us to grow our production capabilities, helping to create more jobs and develop an export market from our base in Fermanagh.” Whiterock’s Investment Director, Chris Trotter, shared his support for the company's growth journey, highlighting their commitment to sustainability and innovation. Read https://lnkd.in/enRUae6s for more details on this exciting development and RE-KKUR’s impact on sustainable construction. #SustainableConstruction #REKKUR #WhiterockInvestment #EcoFriendlyBuilding #RecycledMaterials #ConstructionInnovation
