At wienerberger, our commitment to sustainability drives every action we take. Recognizing the need for long-term solutions, we became the first large-scale brick manufacturer in India to transition from coal to natural gas for brick kiln firing. This groundbreaking move has significantly reduced our carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide emissions. By prioritizing cleaner energy and ensuring the safety of our teams and the environment, we are not only enhancing the quality of our bricks but also taking meaningful steps to secure a healthier planet for future generations. . . #wienerberger #wienerbergerIndia #porotherm #naturalgas #porothermsmartbricks #energyefficient #sustainability #sustainabledesign #wallsolution #greenliving #greenbuilding #clay #ecosystem #innovation #architects #construction #natural

It’s World Environment Day, a celebration of environmental action and the work governments, businesses, and individuals are doing to inspire positive change. As part of our Unilin group-wide sustainability strategy, One Home, we are doing just that. In 2021, we committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), and in 2023, we set targets to reduce our energy usage emissions by 42% and our supply chain emissions by 12.3% by 2030, relative to 2020. At IVC, we look into the environmental impact of our products and production processes and how we live at home, at work, and on our planet, not just today but every day. This morning, I visited Eco Surfaces in Cardiff, witnessing firsthand their commitment to the Circular Economy Ethos. Dantia & the Circular Economy Living Lab are proud to highlight companies like Eco Surfaces Australia, offering solutions to real-world challenges. The problem at hand? Dust from seemingly harmless kitchen tops. Surfaces made with quartz are a major culprit, containing respirable crystalline silica (RCS). RCS, likened to the new asbestos, is a known trigger of silicosis, a fatal respiratory illness. #CircularEconomy #Innovation #Sustainability #EcoSurfaces #Australia #RealWorldProblems Watch the video below to see how a Lake Macquarie Manufacturer is providing a solution to the problem Hunter iF worth a visit

The whole premise of SRI is reflectance of light and emissivity of infrared heat from the surface. What SRI doesn't count is the transmission through the envelope of the infrared heat that's been converted to conductive heat and radiates inside, so paints that provide true thermal insulation like SUPER THERM which also block 99.5% of the infrared heat and provide additional thermal resistance in the energy balance calculations compared with basic white heat reflective paints, don't receive the attention yet outperform pretty well all the other paints in the marketplace at only 250 microns. Great the conversation of UHI is progressing, pity the education about heat hasn't gotten much further than white paint and emissivity. White heat reflective paints try to reflect the visible spectrum of sunlight while clean (44%). Blocking the infrared radiation (53%) is critical to the full success of a cool roof insulation coating. Most can’t do this so rely on relative results from SRI and being as white as possible. Solar reflectivity is a measure of how much sunlight a roof can reflect – not infrared heat! The original Heat Neutralizer Ceramics Thermal Insulation Coating for 35 years. SUPER THERM® blocks 99.5% of the infrared and 96.1% total solar heat: https://lnkd.in/g3bWKiNf #CoolRoofs #NetZeroEmissions #HeatReflectivePaint #EnergyReduction #UrbanHeatIslands #InsulationCoatings #SuperTherm #RetrofitAustralia #HeatNeutralizer #ThermalInsulationCoatings

October is #EnergyAwarenessMonth, which is meant to encourage us all to reflect on our energy consumption and make more sustainable choices in our communities. At Sprung, we’re dedicated to helping businesses achieve their sustainability goals by providing innovative, energy-efficient building solutions. Here are just some of the ways Sprung structures help to lower emissions and conserve energy: 🔹𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻: Our patented membrane tensioning system, combined with a continuous layer of performance fiberglass insulation, create a virtually airtight and thermal-efficient building envelope that prevents air infiltration and optimizes interior climate control. Translucent daylight panels further reduce the need for artificial lighting and can lower energy use. 🔹𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: We reduce manufacturing pollution and waste by using fully recyclable aluminum substructures that contain at least 45% recycled content, as well as insulation that contains up to 25% recycled material. 🔹𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴: Thanks to their modular design, our structures are packaged and shipped quickly and efficiently, minimizing resource consumption and transportation emissions. 🔹𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲: Through thoughtful planning, design refinements and our extensive experience, we’re able to limit on-site construction waste and reduce the number of materials ending up in landfills. 🔹𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Our structures can be easily expanded, reconfigured or relocated as your needs evolve, saving on materials, energy and operating costs. With Sprung, businesses can reduce their carbon footprint, lower energy costs and move closer toward their sustainability targets. Sustainability and Low Carbon Glass with Tuffx. We are fully committed in reducing our environmental impact by: 🌍Reducing greenhouse gas emissions 🌍Conserving water and energy (considering buildings, vehicles and travel) 🌍Reducing waste by following the waste management hierarchy 🌍Using sustainable materials 🌍Supporting sustainable practices in our supply chain Recognising the urgent need to mitigate carbon emissions from buildings, we introduced the integration of Low Carbon Glass into our balustrade design. We believe that the adoption of low carbon materials like these are paramount. This is not only in line with the goals set by organizations such as LETI, the World Green Building Council, and Architecture 2030 but also aligns with the global imperative to achieve net-zero carbon operations.
