Yesterday (28/02), we joined forces at the "EdTech towards Achieving SDGs" Roundtable with Southern Voice, marking the release of the pivotal paper entitled "Ed-Tech Landscape and Challenges in Asia and MENA." Proudly represented by our Advisory Lead Ratna Hartien ANGIN Advisory shone as a key contributor from the South East Asia region, bringing up best case practices and learnings from the EdTech ecosystem, and related country-level policies. Here are our top insights: 🎓 Ed-tech is a game-changer in bridging educational gaps and enhancing learning infrastructures. 🏫 Despite its potential, integrating ed-tech into mainstream education faces hurdles, with a significant need for teacher training and resource allocation. ✏️ The rapid evolution and cost of ed-tech pose challenges to equal access. This week I joined some other #Edtech companies, entrepreneurs and business leaders, plus the City of Melbourne and EduGrowth: Australia's EdTech Hub at a round-table discussing the current challenges and opportunities within Ed Tech. It was fantastic to be part of the discussion where we talked about the dynamic landscape of #edtech in Melbourne, what’s needed to support the industry and what the future could look like. Some of the topics discussed included adoption and engagement of Ed-tech, procurement, accessibility, pedagogical approaches, cutting-edge technology, AI, and the transformative potential for curriculum enrichment and heightened learner engagement. Melbourne's reputation as a nexus of educational excellence and innovation positions us as a global leader in fostering impactful edtech solutions. Melbourne is looking to bolster its support for the Ed Tech sector so the discussion will help formulate a strategy. EmpowerED aims to facilitate the process by compiling a European map of testbeds to allow EdTech companies to identify available opportunities for validation and co-creation. The intersection of development issues and digital advancements presents numerous opportunities for sustainable progress. Recent research findings point to an increasingly critical role for digital development in driving social change, particularly in the context of education policies and skills development. This resonates deeply with my own experiences in academia and entrepreneurship. An example that comes to mind is the use of ed-tech applications in delivering vocational education. Purposefully designed digital platforms can bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, fostering a more holistic approach to learning. This not only enhances human resource development but also paves the way for innovative solutions to pressing public policy issues. However, the question remains: How can we ensure that these digital solutions are truly accessible and beneficial to all? As we navigate this digital revolution, it's essential that we don't lose sight of the importance of inclusivity and equity. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how we can leverage digital development to create more inclusive, effective learning environments. In turn, we can foster sustainable innovation, enhancing both social and human development.
