Our successful 6-week investigation project has clearly demonstrated the immense potential of AI to enhance healthcare efficiency in South Africa. With the right resources, AI-driven solutions like Mpilo AI can reduce healthcare delays, while improving patient outcomes and streamlining operations. This work highlights how technology can effectively bridge gaps in our healthcare system, supporting a model that is both locally adapted and focused on patient-centred care. As final-year engineering students, this project marked the last major step on our journey towards becoming engineers, and we are proud of the impact it has had. It has not only strengthened our technical abilities but has also shown us the real-world potential of innovation to address critical societal challenges. #Engineering #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareInnovation
