Did you know Boxing Day has roots in generosity and gratitude? Celebrated on December 26th, it originated in the UK as a day to give back. Traditionally, employers gave "boxes" of gifts, food, or money to their workers, and people shared with those in need. Today, it's embraced globally as a time for family, shopping, and post-holiday deals. As Marketers, Boxing Day just might be a golden opportunity for creativity: • Tap into the spirit of giving with thoughtful campaigns • Align with post-holiday sales trends and customer mindsets • Build on the season’s goodwill to strengthen connections It’s not just a day, it’s a mindset that blends generosity and action for individuals and brands! #BoxingDay #HolidayMarketing #SpiritOfGiving #CustomerConnections

Boxing Day - What is it Really About? 🎁 Yesterday, I was privileged to be in an Audio Room hosted by Paulette Hallam and Eny Osung sharing how should we reach out to others during Christmas? I believe that a number of people were impacted through that event. Much thanks to the Hosts. Now, Boxing Day (the day after Christmas 🎄) isn’t just a public holiday or a day for sales - it’s a day rooted in generosity and sharing! Historically, it was when servants and the less privileged received gifts from their employers. Friends, this is a perfect time to reflect on kindness and giving. This season, let’s make a difference in someone’s life: 🎄 Plan a Mercy Visit to someone in need. 🎁 Share Christmas Giveaways or some form of Thoughtful Gifts or the other 📞 Make Kindness Calls to spread love and encouragement. Together, we can turn the spirit of Christmas into tangible acts of care. Who will you bless today? Let’s inspire hope, one act at a time! ✨ Take action now and share your ideas below! #BoxingDay #KindnessMatters #GiveBack #ChristmasSpirit #ActsOfKindness #MercyVisits

“Happy Boxing Day! 🎉 Ever wondered why it’s called Boxing Day? Traditionally, the day after Christmas was a time for giving – whether employers handed out ‘Christmas boxes’ to their workers or families shared gifts with those in need. It’s a day rooted in generosity and appreciation. For those of us in the corrugated packaging industry, the idea of ‘boxing’ has a whole new layer of meaning. Packaging plays a critical role during the holiday season – protecting gifts, ensuring safe deliveries, and adding excitement to unwrapping. It’s a reminder of the importance of sustainable, innovative solutions in creating positive experiences for people and the planet. As we celebrate today, let’s reflect on the value we bring through our work and the opportunities ahead to innovate and give back. Wishing everyone in the industry – and beyond – a wonderful Boxing Day!” #Vpkpackaging #corrugatedpackaging #operationalexcellence #continuousimprovement #christmastime

How do you cut through the noise at this time next year? You know what would be a simple but cheeky 2 part campaign if you're a brand who goes hard on boxing day promotions? Run a TV or non-skippable in-stream ad campaign that starts with a few seconds of intense boxing day promo through late November/early December... BUT suddenly 'Click' (old 80's TV dial sound and CRT shutdown effect) as someone turns it off... copy/VO "Hold the hype..." pull back reveal (or in reflection of screen merging to actual room behind) a nostalgic scene of family putting up the tree. Cue Christmas music and "… first, the memories." Branding. Done. Then Christmas eve when all the boxing day ads begin... reverse it (quick ramp) into the TV and then full screen of your Boxing Day promotion runs. In 1974, Muhammad Ali triumphed over George Foreman in one of boxing’s most iconic battles. What seemed like a crushing defeat for Foreman became the foundation for an extraordinary transformation—one that made him wealthier and more influential than ever before, thanks to an unexpected source: a kitchen appliance. Here’s how George Foreman redefined celebrity branding forever: In Zaire, Foreman entered the ring as an undefeated powerhouse—40 fights, 37 knockouts. But Ali’s "rope-a-dope" strategy changed everything. By the 8th round, Foreman’s punches slowed, and Ali delivered the knockout. The loss forced Foreman to step away from boxing. He faced setbacks, losing his career, confidence, and fortune. But instead of staying down, he chose to reinvent himself. At 38, Foreman announced his comeback. Gone was the intimidating fighter. In his place stood "Big George," a smiling, burger-loving figure who charmed the world with his warmth and humor. In 1994, at 45, Foreman shocked the world again by reclaiming the heavyweight title, knocking out Michael Moorer. His most significant success, however, came outside the ring. When approached to endorse a grill, Foreman made a visionary move. Instead of a one-time fee, he negotiated 40% of the profits. Foreman’s authentic promotion of the grill resonated with families. He filmed himself cooking at home, showing the grill as more than a product—it was about bringing people together. The results were phenomenal. By 1998, annual sales reached $200 million. Foreman earned $8 million per month in royalties, and in 1999, he sold the naming rights for $137.5 million. In total, Foreman earned over $200 million—not just from boxing, but by being himself. The takeaway is clear: authenticity, trust, and smart decisions build lasting success. This same formula drives today’s biggest brands like MrBeast Burger, Kylie Cosmetics, and Prime. Be real. Build trust. Take ownership. That’s how legends are made. - Interested to know what I do?
