"Indigenous organizations don’t need another layer of bureaucracy to get funding," says Yisroel Quint, Founder of the Dollar a Day Fund for Indigenous Environmental Justice. This all-volunteer fund is proving that trust-based philanthropy works—empowering Indigenous-led organizations with unrestricted grants, no reporting requirements, and technical assistance tailored to their needs. Since 2020, the fund has unlocked over $3 million for Indigenous-led ecosystem restoration while distributing $243,000 in unrestricted funding directly to Tribal Nations and organizations. Blue Forest has collaborated with the fund to connect 14 of our Tribal partners to resources that amplify their vision for restoring forests, watersheds, and communities. By embracing Indigenous frameworks for partnership and giving, the Dollar a Day Fund exemplifies what’s possible when philanthropy is relational, responsive, and equitable. Together, we can learn from and amplify these models to build a more resilient, equitable future. 👉 Read the full story on our blog: https://lnkd.in/gt9uDWfw 🌟 Explore their work or contribute to their cause: https://lnkd.in/gBXerXsJ

Golf is often seen as a game for the wealthy, a sport I’ve never had the opportunity to try, but one I’d love to learn. The idea of hitting a perfect shot in one try combines skill and luck—a reminder that success, in any endeavor, requires persistence, practice, and learning along the way. At Firmrock Agri-Water Initiative (FAWI), we believe in the same principles. Whether it’s fundraising or sustainable farming, we know our goal is achievable through steady progress and constant learning. We’re working to tackle food security and poverty in semi-arid regions, empowering communities through sustainable farming practices. Our journey might seem long, but we’re getting closer every day. And the best part? It’s not too late to join us. Even a simple act of help can make a big difference. If you're passionate about sustainable agriculture and want to be part of something meaningful, we need you. Let’s create lasting change together. #SustainableFarming #FoodSecurity #Fundraising #CommunityDevelopment #FirmrockInitiative #Impact #JoinUs

We recently partnered with Tamara Giltsoff to convene a roundtable discussion and unpack this question with stakeholders in the natural capital market including institutional investors, farmers, wildlife trusts, public sector bodies and philanthropic funders. So awesome to join Philanthropy New Zealand, Predator Free New Zealand Trust and funders from all over Aotearoa New Zealand to hear so many fascinating insights from Marie Doole's environmental funding research earlier today. As funders, it’s so important that we have a holistic understanding of the pain points for not-for-profits, key inhibitors for securing funding, the landscape in which we operate and the opportunities to create more effective funding systems. Innovative research, like Marie’s, is so important to share and build this knowledge, so we can create better outcomes for our communities. Ka rawe, Marie! Join us in celebrating our beautiful environment! 🌱🌏 Today, we aim to raise awareness about the environment and how to protect our planet for the years to come. This years theme theme presents itself as #GenerationRestoration. We cannot turn back time, but we can grow forests, revive water sources, and bring back soils. We are the generation that can make peace with land. We're contributing through our Plant A Tree program, where every $5 donated plants a native tree. Additionally, our Carbon Farming Program focuses on educating Australians about carbon farming, supporting the development and implementation of carbon-related projects, and building a network of like-minded individuals across the state. After all, like our Elders say: 'If you look after Country, Country will look after you'. Discover how you can be part of this restoration effort by joining us today. https://lnkd.in/gY7g-ej7

Conserving and protecting our natural environment is a very important area of community need. The environment is a network of living things, and it is fundamental for sustaining life in our community. According to the City of Guelph’s 2023 Environmental Sustainability Report, 22% of Guelph’s total land area is made up of natural heritage systems and urban forests. These systems include a variety of environmental features: 31% streams and valleys; 30% linkages, landform, wildlife habitat and restoration areas; and 39% woodlands and wetlands. All these environmental systems come together to support life and biodiversity in our community. For example, these environmental features help reduce pollutants in the air and water, support wildlife and plant lifecycles, promote health and wellness, and act as natural cooling systems. Throughout Guelph and surrounding areas, there are many charities and non-profit organizations working to protect and conserve the environment. If the environment is an area of community need that you are interested in supporting philanthropically, consider working with the Guelph Community Foundation to contribute to a related fund – or start your own environmental conservation-oriented fund. We offer several types of funds that will allow you to be as specific or broad as you would like in what you would like to support in environmental protection! #GuelphCommunityFoundation #GCF #Environment #Conservation #Guelph #Philanthropy
