Finished Vehicle Logistics North America (#FVLNA) is in the books and I must say, this year's conference was truly a success. Props to the Ultima Media team for coordinating the event and being the catalyst which brought together significant representation of each link in the FVL supply chain. This year's event was about disrupting the status quo which resonated throughout all of the conversations I had throughout the week. #OEMs and #3PLs are looking past mitigating disruptions and are instead are focusing on solutions, both physical and IT related, which give them flexibility to best serve their customers. On the IT side it was apparent that the demand for solutions which not only collect and visualize data, but also support decision making and process digitalization is key as organizations look towards the future of logistics. Topics such as #digitaltwin, #optimization, and #machinelearning which could be leveraged to make the best use of capacity and provide #digitaldecisionmaking were key components of the conference and networking conversations. Luckily enough, these are all topics which aren't just on our roadmap but are actively implemented in our projects and imbedded in our solutions. 🌟 𝗔𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘄? 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗪𝗦 🌟 Loading equipment is often a time-consuming and labor-intensive task, and the need for an efficient solution has become more critical than ever. To address this challenge, the Compact Loading Adapter and Winch System (CLAWS) team (CMSgt Travis Chaney, MSgt Khalil Bashir, TSgt Joshua Roger, SSgt Brett Doyle) developed a solution that eliminates the need for heavy machinery, reduces loading times, and offers significant cost savings. By adapting and collaborating with the Navy’s winch technology, CLAWS benefits include shared functionalities and flexibility. In addition, the system cuts 9,000 pounds of equipment weight and eliminates the need for 21 personnel typically required for loading in austere environments, resulting in reduced transportation costs and a smaller equipment footprint. Designed for easy transport on AC-130s and other large aircraft, CLAWS offers versatility across a range of operational scenarios. 🛫 Recent project milestones include: 🔸 Secured $40k in funding for prototype development 🔸 Received an additional $260K in funding from Tesseract 🔸 Partnered with AFWERX Refinery and SOFWERX foundry for testing and refinement 🔸 Gained approval for Air Force requirements development 🔸 Actively pushing for Air Force-wide implementation We’ll continue to follow CLAWS' progress closely and look forward to its impact on the Air Force logistics community as it enhances mission readiness and operational efficiency. ⏫ #CLAWS #WinchTechnology #LoadingEquipment #LogisticsInnovation #AirForceLogistics #A4L #Tesseract

NTEA and the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) have filed a lawsuit challenging the California Air Resources Board's Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) rule which includes an end to combustion truck sales in 2036. NTEA is concerned that this rule, in conjunction with the already approved Advanced Clean Trucks rule, will negatively affect the future availability of work trucks in California and possibly other states. NTEA has been a longstanding proponent of clean vehicles and sustainable transportation solutions — but how those goals are best achieved can be debated. Left unchecked, the current suite of California regulations will severely curtail the ability of work truck users to obtain the vehicles they need to successfully and efficiently carry out their vital missions and support ongoing business operations in critical industries such as public works, emergency response, last-mile delivery and many others.
