Property Sales Across the UK, property sales are up. In the #NorthWest, they are up by 18.5%. However, when I dive deeper into the #Lancaster market, the picture is slightly different. Sales are up in #Lancaster but only by 7.5%. Lancaster has always been a more stable market. When house-selling activity dropped in other regions and even neighbouring towns, Lancaster's market remained active due to our more unique demographic. Properties selling quickly in Perth, slowly in Darwin. Homes across Australia sold in a median 31 days during the May 2024 quarter, unchanged from both April 2024 and May 2023, according to CoreLogic. As is typical, days on market were significantly lower in the combined capitals (27 days) than the combined regions (42 days). Days on market is a good way to judge the strength of a property market. A lower number signifies a greater level of buyer competition (and vice versa), while a declining number signifies increasing buyer competition (and vice versa). That's something to bear in mind when you consider the differences in days on market in the different capital cities, and how those metrics have changed over the past year: * Perth = 10 days (was 15 days the year before) * Brisbane = 19 days (23) * Adelaide = 27 days (30) * Sydney = 32 days (31) * Melbourne = 36 days (29) * Hobart = 45 days (31.5) * Canberra = 47 days (47) * Darwin = 53 days (60)
